I love that RBR are suggesting that the championship might be decided in court due to inflexible spending caps but when it came to actually applying the sporting regulations appropriately they said the championship should be decided by what the stewards determined on the day.

I missed this whole incident. It’s once again a case of South American’s using language they perceive as not racist - like the Suarez sitauation - very murky.

Also didn’t know that Max was dating Piquet’s daughter. If he’s so flippant with that language in media activity, suspect it gets used around Max too - but as I said above, it’s a complex one when it comes to other languages.

Personally, I don’t get why anyone would need to point out a superstar’s race

Could come in handy if they said what Piquet actually said and in what context so I can form an opinion of my own.

No media will publish what was said - that’s the norm - but if you go on google/twitter you can find it for yourself and form your own opinion.

He apparentky called Lewis “the little n***** (negrinho)”

Thanks.

So basically the same thing as Suarez said to Evra orque tu eres negro

Yep - both in the wrong using that language.

Funny… I thought when Suarez used it, it was simply a term of affection…but let’s not open that can of worms again eh :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

Thay fact you edited your post twice to avoid falling foul of accidently coming across as accepting its fine goes to show thats the case

Horrific crash before the 1st corner. Zhou’s car was flipped upside down and then all the way to the catch fencing. The bottom of the car faced the catch fencing, while car stuck between tyre barrier and the fence. So far the report is that Zhou is OK.

Looked like a bad one. Glad he is okay.

If he has come out of that with anything less than a bit of concussion it does show how well they’ve done on safety.

Even when I was watching it every weekend in the late 90s and early 00s that would have been a fatality.

Ferrari cocked up again for Leclerc without pitting him for new sets of soft during the FCY. Then almost messed up by telling Sainz to back up the others to allow Leclerc to have enough of a gap for the restart. Good for Sainz telling the team off not to screw up the race for him.

Max and Perez ran other cars off the track without leave space, but no penalties.

Seems to me that FCY/SC or VSC have been making races artificially interesting. FIA might as well shorten the races to 10 laps, and let them have at it. But wow, that was exciting racing after the restart from FCY/SC.

The halos are doing the job over this weekend.
Zhou incident. Sky mentioned that Zhou was released after checked by F1 medical team / doctors.

This halo technology does have the apt name.

Wow, that was a nasty one for Zhou… luckily he’s totally fine, thanks to technology.

But the final 10 laps were great yesterday:

I watched the F2 and F1 sprint races yesterday. Have to say, the racing in F2 is way better. More cars, evenly paced, lots of battles.

Absolutely gutted for Carlos Sainz. Ferrari got the strategies right this time around, but the power unit on Carlos car literally blew up into pieces. He could have finished 2nd today.
More trouble for Charles Leclarc. I thought that with the throttle issue, he would lose the lead like last time, but held on.
The graphics superimposed on 1-2-3 on TV at the podium were so messed up. looked like they pulled the Silverstone results and ran with it.
