I’d say advantage max all the way. Not a lewis Hamilton fan but dont want max to win. Couple of dnfs by max would do fine for me

Would probably be even better viewing if the likes of ferrari and mclaren have enough pace to contend for podium positions in the last 4 races. Mclaren have had the pace to compete but have slipped back (mostly has to do with them concentrating their resources on next years car i guess). Ferrari do seem to have kicked up a notch but not enough to realistically be on the podium. Very good one lap pace but not enough race pace.

Verstappen should have been fined a lot more points for his actions in taking hamilton out of the race(the one where he planted his car on top of lewis Hamilton’s helmet).

Irony being that if the rain had held on for a few minutes in sochi and norris had held on either finishing first or second , Hamilton would still have been leading the championship. That’s how close this championship had been.

Adding to the excitement to the last 4 races of the season and the drivers championship is the fact that Mercedes lead Red Bull by a single point in the constructors championship. Bottas and Checo have more to do now than just support their team mates.

I’m expecting plenty of wheel to wheel racing and moments coming up. Bottas has been driving pretty well of late, whilst Checo, as per last season, has come to grips with his car towards the end of the season.

I had the same feeling when Hamilton drove Verstappen of the cirquit at Silverstone, a 10-second penalty, that was a biggie … :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

Silverstone was a racing incident with Hamilton having some blame.
Monza was a schumacheresque (adelaide 94, jerez 97) incident where a guy who’s being overtaken deliberately takes the opponent out of the race

I know a lot of people who completely disagree with your assessment.

Real shame the part failed throwing Lewis to the back of the grid. What looked like the possibility of 3 points from the sprint race gone.

Big plus for Maxs’ worl championship bid.

Interestingly, Max fined for touching Lewis’ wing. Not suggesting Max tampered with the car!

Bullshit decision on both counts.

Don’t like it. Let them race!

A disqualification because something broke on their car? Just bollocks.

Delighted Hamilton made up a massive 25 place disadvantage, got run off the road by Verstappen (without penalty) and still won.

FIA, Red Bull, Verstappen…go fuck yourselves.

A good win for Hamilton and his illigal rear wing.

Hamilton is with Mercedes not Red Bull! :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
I’m not even sure they have wings on their rears.

This is becoming farcial. How can the data not be available ?

Had it been the other way , Karen Horner would have been whining and whinging all the way.

And redbull with that bendy wings were allowed to race and score points for 2 races before the FIA deemed them illegal.

Red Bull have also been allowed to work on their cars in parc ferme on at least four occasions to fix broken elements without penalty. No such indulgence given to Mercedes.

Verstappen’s move on Hamilton has previously resulted in a penalty of at least 5 seconds this season but nothing on the weekend. It also looked like the he’d returned to his multiple manoeuvres under breaking - saw he got a black and white flag for that.

I think this was far more blatant a move than the move by Hamilton on Verstappen at Silverstone. That could have been classified as a racing incident. This was Verstappen deliberately pushing Hamilton wide. If you see that incident, you’d see that Verstappen makes no attempt to stay within the inside line which he could have easily done instead going and even steering right.

Yup, at Silverstone from memory Hamilton left Verstappen a car’s width. He forced him wide but did not crowd him off the track. Edited to add video. It’s clear that Verstappen turns into Hamilton, when Hamilton had the corner. Verstappen had lots of space to the outside that he didn’t use.

On the weekend Verstappen deliberately pushed Hamilton so far wide that Verstappen’s car left the track. It seemed to me that he was hoping to cause a collision and it was only through Hamilton’s avoidance that this didn’t happen. Imagine if there hadn’t been a run-off area there? Verstappen’s putting Hamilton into the tyres/wall/gravel.
