Naby KEITA: 2020/21

That is indeed a great point.

Yup agree, he has to rank in there, just next to the beautiful Aquilani, who was a great footballer by the way, but with a body made of biscuit too.

This one (K8a, great find @Scott.Jones :+1:t2:) is completely unsellable. He’ll thus remain with us and continue to give work to the club doctors next season.

Unless some Italian club comes up with a loan offer, with us having to pay 95% of the wages, and with them having an option to buy, which of course they’ll never take. That’s what happened with Aquilani if I remember well
 the fuckers

I remember a Dutch player who had #14, he was not too shabby :sunglasses:

Yes also, I think in almost vulgar way,for both of them it was simply the cold wet climate :upside_down_face:

Sadly this is the most likely scenario. JK won’t want a player hanging around who doesn’t want to be there. The senior pros won’t want it too. Bad for dressing room morale. He will have to go somewhere but any interested clubs will know we’re desperate to get rid so offers for a permanent sale will be low, assuming we receive any at all. A loan with us taking a big chunk of the wage bill is probably the most realistic outcome.

It’s really frustrating because there is an absolute peach of a player in there, but without a fit body, it’s of no use at all

Naby even dropped by Guinea for their upcoming qualifiers.

EDIT: FRIENDLIES. hat tip to @Prolix

feel for the guy, some of the shit being flung is beyond.

the sacrafices you would have to make to come from Guinea to play football in Europe must be immense before you even get near an amatuer level of football.

his injury record here is beyond frustrating, but to suggest hes bottling it, or weak in some way, doesnt take into account the journey (not just the litteral one) he would have made to get where he is.

to be dropped from the national squad when he should be the marque must be a dagger to his heart

YNWA Nabby, things may not have worked out as we all really wanted them to, but your still a winner to get where you have gotten to

It literally says “friendly matches” on the sheet of paper. :man_facepalming:

Guinea’s next WC qualifying matches aren’t until September, as far as I can tell.

Edit: to be clear, :man_facepalming: @ SurMerco.

Edit 2: But also, unfortunately, I don’t think there’s reason to think Naby is actually fit at the moment. :grimacing:

Yeah I thought they were friendlies also.

EDIT: @Prolix is legitimate one of the best. Eagle eyes.

As far as I know, the qualifiers aren’t till September. Maybe it’s some friendlies where they don’t want to risk him.

Oh crap. @Prolix you beat me to it.

Yeah I thought the African nations just had qualifiers this Summer. The guy on Twitter wrote WC qualifiers for some strange reason.

It’s why you’re the best my man. Breaking it all down. Nice work here. What’s your Twitter handle. I’d like to give you a follow.

If this gives him a kick in the arse in a good way then great, if it doesn’t, well whatever, we not relying on him anyway. He’s a bonus player right now, if he comes good it will be fantastic, if not he’s the same expensive fuckup we’ve witnessed for the past 3 years, so it will either be a win or a same old same old. It would be nice to sell him at a 50% minimum loss and pass the risk onto someone else.

He gets flak for playing for his national team when not fit.
He also gets flak for not playing for his national team when not fit :man_shrugging:

Let just take away his No.8 first. He does not deserve that.

There are bigger problems with Naby than his jersey number. I know his injury record is frustrating and he hasn’t lived up to the expectations, but the treatment he gets here is really bad. No empathy whatsoever.

Yes let’s do that. In fact let’s strip him off it in public for having the temerity of getting injured on our dime.

Some posts in this thread are ban worthy.

I understand that it’s a medical fact that persistent injury niggles are treatable by public humiliation.
