I will say, I have trouble wrapping my head around the idea that Trent “doesn’t care” or “doesn’t want to defend”; rather, I think the cover that existed during his zenith (2018-20) is well and truly not there. Doesn’t mean that he is a terrible RB, but it’s clear that defensively he is not performing up to the standard required, although I think that’s again a function of a lack of cover. Still, given his attributes and the fact that he could still very well sling balls in from a De Bruyne-esque position off the right, I don’t see why we don’t try him at CM at least temporarily if he’s going to get exposed time after time at RB.
It’s September. Far too early to give up on the season.
You bed in the youngsters in April and May if you have nothing left to play for.

It would mean that we kiss football projects good bye and go for tactical football and short term success. Boring, not romantic and I would hate it.
Also, there is absolutely no reason to even contemplate sacking Klopp. He deserves a lot of time indeed to resructure the team. But let’s face it, this season is going to be a season where we must fight hard for top 4 and prepare for next season.
Either our injured players gets back and start to glue and we find truly good form, or FSG must allow Klopp to bring in a few players and spent quite a bit of money to prepare for a title challenge next season.

No it hasn’t happened before. But also remember he’s 4th choice CB and he’s getting game time because of injuries. For the most part he’s done quite well this season. Not many teams have a 4th choice CB this good.
