who the hell suggested the Knickerbockers as “blue collar”?
It’s a fun series though. Whoever makes it through (probably Knicks) might just collapse from exhaustion next round. Last game was great.
I don’t know much about netball, but I was wondering, what is a Laker? Is it someone who lives near a lake, or on a lake, or in a lake? Is it maybe someone who builds lakes or maintains them in some way?
Also, are there a lot of lakes in LA? I thought it’s more of a Minnesota thing.
LA I’d associate with beaches, gangs or traffic jams.
Doesn’t make sense to me, but as I said, I don’t know much about gridiron.
Well… they actually moved to LA from Minneapolis, Minnesota, so…
Really? Did they bring the lakes?
so a mermaid?
I think they live in the sea. Probably eels, pike and carp in a lake. Not really designed for ball games.
It was a fun series. But throw in an half-crippled Embiid, Bell’s palsy, migraines, the close proximity of the teams against the economy of both cities, and Silver’s very obvious devotion to the markets (ie, the “blue-collar” Knicks), and the Sixers still run every game close, it starts to feel a little bit cheap.
Jalen Brunson is a flat-out winner
Silver’s check must’ve bounced tonight.
Luka is letting the side down. I thought this guy was going to represent lazy, slightly chubby white guys, but he went too Slav.
Boston (aka, the worst city in the world) are going to sweep this, whilst Luka and Kyrie are discussing diet pills.
No way Adam Silver is not a lizard.
Record breaking crowd (19177) for a basketball match in the UK.
Big excitement up here in Maine for Cooper Flagg - he’s a Maine kid who is likely going to be the #1 pick in 2025. Left Maine after (I think) his Sophomore year at Nokomis High School then went down to some Florida school where he became acknowledged as the top prospect in the country.
He’s running the show for Duke now but watching this Dule-Kentucky game and I can’t help but feel he may not have picked the right school. This Duke team fucking sucks - especially the other guard Kneuppel. From what I can see its either Flagg does it himself or Duke look terrible - they even played UMaine and didn’t really dominate despite winning.
I’m sure he’ll be fine when it comes to the draft but would be a shame if he gets knocked down because he’s playing on a weak Duke team.
Regular NBA followers: is Cleveland the real deal this year? How is their bench strength?
I think that is just what NCAA basketball is now. I think it was that game that had the stat that all 10 starters were either freshmen or transfers. Teams are put together with a 1 year window of opportunity. That is too narrow for it to ever really gel and so the incentives are weighted so heavily to high profile players to focus on their own skills and individual contributions. I have never been a big fan of basketball, but would occasionally watch the big college games especially in March, but the entire thing has become a mess.
