Further to my earlier anouncement of the nationwide simultaneous test of the information dissemination system using the Japan Emergency Alert System (J-Alert) … gerron with it!
I must now inform you that the test has been cancelled due to Japan experiencing a major weather event.
I kid you not. A large typhoon is currently barreling it’s way along the Pacific coast having caused quite a lot flooding in Okinawa yesterday. The typhoon’s path will take in all major population centers along the Pacific coast. So if you were planning on flying to or from Osaka, Nagoya or Tokyo in the next day or two, I think your flight may be re-arranged.

It’s no big deal, except for the people who’s houses might get flooded of course.
Just the first of many typhoons to head this way this year.
That does sound a bit blasé and slightly cold-hearted, but you get that way after you’ve been here a while as big weather events and natural disasters are part of life here.

regardless of royal family or not, 4 years for rape is ridiculous. And even the prosecution only seek a 7 year sentence. What a joke that is of a legal system.

I presume that the 4 years means he won’t even stay in prison. There’s surely some house arrest type structure for a short period then some appeal where he regains near full freedom.
They are appealing so that he can spend more time with his seriously ill mum. Right.

In Norway, most people think the punishment is quite fitting, as we know every details of the case from the absolute massive media coverage. But if you know nothing, it’s rather (extremely) idiotic to write what you did.
