Anyway, he was never going to be found guilty on all charges. Everyone who followed the case knows that. Some of the charges were so-so to put it midly and others were almost impossible to prove. All of the girls in question had sex with him of their own free will, as an example
But I suppose a justice system is shit for demanding a modicum of evidence.
But Marius is a disaster on 2 legs and absolutely horrifying, but it’s not like he has been treated milder than anyone else. Arguably, he has been treated more and not less severe as it’s important for the system to show that he has no protection.

@Magnus he was found guilty of raping 2 (?) women who were incapacitated at the time. He also filmed the act without their consent (obviously) or disclosing it immediately after the fact. He also has other abusive acts against women against his name. Hard not to find that the man is a predator and four years is a grave miscarriage in my honest opinion.

First of all, yes. In general you are right, he is a creep and an asshole for many reasons and should be in prison.
But it’s much more complicated than it seems. In essence, he has been found guilty of having had sex with 2 women after they fell asleep but crucially, they had sex just before those girls fell asleep. So it’s a so called sleeping rape, but it’s complicated by them having had voluntarilly sex just before, which makes is a bit harder to prove when it comes to consent (particualarly since some of these influencer girls were extremely happy to have sex with him and sent messages to their friends telling them how fantastic the night was, as an example). The filming is of course extremely aggravating and why it can be proven in the first place. One of these girls, his girlfriend at the time, had made everything more difficult by trying to meet him when wasn’t allowed to do so by police (which he is now guiltly of), as an example.) As an example, she has needed protection from herself and is part of the reason why he hasn’t been allowed out on bail from prison (normally he would have, while waiting for sentencing)

Anyway, since all of this has been appealed (the guilt question), the sentence isn’t in force yet. But due to his past transgressions regarding meeting the girl he was not allowed to meet and principally for her protection, he is still being denied release, despite the obvious health issues with his mother.
But given that the appeal case is far off, he might get released with a foot chain at least later on, given that the relationship with one of the girls now is said to be over by both of them (at the start, she still wanted to be his girlfriend and it was complicated).
But really, in most countries on earth he would have been found aquitted on all rape charges, I note. It is only due to how strong the idea of sexual consent is in Scandinavia that he can be found guilty at all of rape. A big word rape, means many things. In Norway it means more than in many other countries where it has a far more narrow definition. But still, it must be proven, either with a hell of a lot of indisiums or by evidence. And some of those film clips found on his phone show basically nothing but a pussy and are not so easy to use as evidence for rape exactly (when the court knows that a girl have had sex with him 4 times in a night, it is some what difficult to prove that the 5th was not of her free will and that she was sleeping etc.)

Looking at him, he reminds me of Joffrey in the Games of Thrones series. I know that this is appearance-based prejudice and holds no sway at such, but something doesn’t seem to sit right with this lad. At least, he isn’t in line to become king, is he?

There is a lot that is wrong with him indeed.
He is insecure, has anger issues (his go to is to throw things around and punch walls) and has enormous issues with his self worth, becomes very abusive to those he loves and has taken way too much drugs, which hardly helps. He was also, previously enarmoured with gangster culture (i.e. money and bling bling). He isn’t a sadist though.
But he is a tragedy on two legs. I hope he can rectify his life and become a better human being after some years in prison and after mental help. He has psychatric issues.
I hate everything about this case, the absolute national humiliation and the damage he has done to his family as well as to his girlfriends. It doesn’t help that his mother is dying.
Come on lads, this didn’t need to descend into personal insults.

Let me just note, without insults attached, that Marius Borg Høyby would not only have been aquitted for the rape charges in authoritarian Singapore, but never even charged in the first place.I do however expect no apology, as integrity has been proven above already.
But maybe , just maybe that is the problem with allowing people like gasband spew unsubstantiated disinformation ?

Wrong comparison. He has been found guilty and convicted by a court of law, hasn’t he? If he was never charged, never convicted, then the verdict would be respected. If he is convicted of RAPE, 4 years is a joke. Similarly in Singapore, if you are never charged, or not convicted, then the verdict would be respected. But if convicted, you would get alot more jail and caning. But yea unlike people like Magnus, people like me at least don’t try to trivialize the verdict of rape.
He wouldn’t have been convicted in Singapore, as you would know if you had the decency to do very minor research. But you don’t.
So unless you want me to continue calling you things you clearly deserve to be called, let us end this now.

If he was never convicted in Singapore, then so be it, I respect the court. But if someone in Singapore is convicted of rape and is sentenced to 4 years, I would be the first one to call it out. No loss to me if you do not want to talk to me in this forum, but I will always respond when someone chooses to call me names and cannot have a proper discussion without resorting to personal insults. If you want to dish it out, take it like a man.

There is no point, you don’t understand what I am writing to you. I have already explained above in enough depth, why he would not be charged in your country, because you have a far more narrow definition of rape and a greater burden of evidence on the woman.
But you don’t understand what I am writing and don’t read the article I post. Your response is just “if found guilty of rape, 4 years is nothing blah blah”. It doesn’t dawn on you that rape is a big word (read category of crime) and we have different definitions and different types of rapes, some worse than others. His form of rape, would not be considered rape in a Singapore court according to documented legal history.
Therefore I cannot debate with you, as you do not comprehend and will resort to further spin.

Yes, sorry about everything, I should have explained with patience instead of ire. I reacted foolishly and much too emotionally because I thought you were so unjust in your declaration without having done any research. I am a bit too much like an ocean wave at times.
