Not a nice exprience of course, though I know there are places on our planet where it was and is more serious than this. Nature is unpredictable, it’s all in her hands. They’re saying that this area is unfortunately active lately and that it might last for around a year to come. They’re hoping that this one was the heaviest one, but you never know. This one today was Croatia’s worst quake since 1880. It was felt in a number of nearby countries.
Second serious quake in less than a year. End of March we had a 5.5 by Richter a bit northeast of Zagreb, today it was 6.3, southeast of Zagreb, causing a lot of damage in the small town of Petrinja. So far, I think it’s been confirmed that 5 people died.
Terrible scenes, you could hears screams of a mother who lost her baby. They’re trying to rescue and find more people beneath the whole mess, there was a loss of electricity (also water, everything) so it was completely dark for a while. Unfortunately, that number might grow in the next hours and days. All forces are involved. Citizens of nearby cities are sending help and offering accomodation for people who will be without a home for a while (some were already after the quake in March). The hospital in Petrinja is completely out of function and people are getting transfered to Zagreb, the army organizing helicopters on the way.
Terrible year for the whole world, even worse in some places. Personally, it was a bad year for me even without Corona and these quakes. Liverpool were my best positive!

I do find this guy quite mysterious, especially his educated background, his adoption of a salt of the earth working class name, and his repeated commitment to break the law. Its as if someone is sponsoring him for the subversion of the current political status quo; lighting a light for British far right extremism, just in case we need em like.
He’s just picked on by the police.

Its a very dark problem, the total ruination of children for life, and just how widespread is it. I mean without being crude, you just dont go out one morning and reach out and say, hey I was buggered last night, again. Encased in shame. Stirs my darker passions, and makes me cry out for the death penalty.

There has been a disaster in Norway today. 4 in the morning, there was a massive landslide in Gjerdrum in Romerike. So far 10 wounded, one seriously and 15 missing at this point in time. The earth is still moving at this point in time, it is clay-ground, making the rescue operations very difficult. The conditions are harsh with heavy snowfall at times.It is cold, some have contacted rescue service and police, stuck beneath ceiling beams and the roof. Houses have slid out and fallen into deep pits.
A man, 60, who was driving to work this morning said to a journalist outside the hotel where evacuated families and people are being brought to, those who do not need medical attention, that he was driving in the dark and that there was a snowstorm, he turned his wipers into full gear, very bad vision, and then suddenly he was in a free fall, 9 meters down. Landed with the car upside down in a gorge, the road gone, the airbag giving him a straight punch to the face. He managed to get out, was a bit disoriented, it was dark after all. Then he saw an old man in the gorge with him, around 75-80 years old in his pajamas, also very disoriented and clearly about to freeze to death. So he gave him his clothes and they found a way up and was rescued by a Sea King helicopter.
But many are down there. Many houses have disappeared. Red Cross, army, civil defence, police, rescue services and lots of geologists are on the scene and working. There are children amongst the missing. Very many people have lost their houses. A lot of houses have slid out after the general evacuation.

Earth is still moving at this time. Not that long ago since a house went over the edge. The epicenter, the people missing there, rescue conditions are difficult.

It’s down to 12 missing now. Everyone else has been found. The rift is 700 meters long and 300 meters broad.
3 houses have also perished during the day (though these have been evacuated of course).
Difficult work, because everything has to be done from a helicopter since the earth is still moving at the epicenter. A team of specialists are there now from Sweden as well as military engineering and etc. Early today there were survivors at least and they are running it as a massive rescue operation and operates on the basis of finding survivors.

10 missing now. It has taken more than a bit time to find out exactly who is missing. The earth is still moving and they are risking dogs now. The situation is very bad and critical. It is night now and cold enough to kill. It is Minus -1 to -3. With snowfall.
They just said on TV, just showed the pictures of it as well, 4 new houses just falling down the chasm. Fucking shit situation, fucking shit year. 2020 blows hard, one of my best friends lost both his parents within 3 weeks of each other as well, they are still both at a morgue because corona and what not. Fucking blows, this pandemic hell 2020, don’t need more shit now before New Year’s Eve.
