Norwich vs. Liverpool: Kangaroo Cup, 19:45 Tue 21st September 2021

I can’t believe the league still hasn’t managed to pay for floodlights…

Pointless competition.

Use it for building match fitness of those not yet seeing regular action in the league.

I know this cup is the least prestigious apart from Charity Shield, but it is still a nice trophy in the cabinet, and in my dreams we win every trophy. I don’t know if we have the squad depth to compete in both this cup, UCL, FA and the league itself; but fundamentally I think we should try to win them all. If that means that we have to play reserves in some of the games to protect the squad and therefore just hope for the best possible result, so be it. But we should always seek to win and at least use the competition to play us into the best possible form.

Would have preferred not to see Keita or Konate on the team sheet, but this should be fine, I reckon.

Nice mix of first team, squad and youth. Interested to see how the U23 lads do.

Interesting side. Young right hand side and an open midfield, should be plenty of chances in this one.

Hopefully Bradley and Gordon can impress. Would be nice to see Balagizi off the bench, another really good talent.

Keita, Ox and Curtis is a strong midfield, who would be the deepest midfielder though? Nice team. Hopefully Taki shines given its his first chance after preseason. Think we’ll be able to get the job done.

I like the lineup. It’s a lot stronger than I thought it would be.

I like that a few first teams players are not even on the bench. Looking forward to watching the two kids, and they should feel much more comfortable in such a strong team.

Hopefully Hendo, Robbo and Jota won’t cross the touchline tonight.

Would like to have seen Big Nat in the team too somehow

Interesting that Origi isn’t captain. I suppose this means that Gomez is taking over Wijnaldum as 4th captain?

I didn’t know Gordon was that young.

Why would Origi be captain?!

You take that back!!! He’s a goddamn hero.

They’ve decided to fuck this one off then. Is that Ozan Kabak on the bench for them?
