Olise is a dream. But he probably ends up a Real Madrid player if gossip is correct.
Personally, I like the profile of Porto’s 20-year old William Gomes. He’s a natural left-footed right winger. He’s rapid, breaking 36 km/h timed on the pitch. He also racked up 12 goals in 40 official competitions last season. In terms of winger metrics 83rd percentile for successful dribbles and 88th percentile for non-penalty goals.
The needle points up for him. Even better the young Brazilian starlet won’t get his price inflated from World Cup hype in 2027. Players who stood out in this year’s 2026 Cup had their prices inflate by 20m+ euros. Early indications are the asking price for Gomes should be around the 55m euros mark.
Oh yes can´t see that happening. Everyone in the World would want him.
I mentioned him just as an example of the style of wide player and the type of talents we should look for. We should have signed him from Palace and played him on the left until Salah was done.
I think William Gomes. I´m not sure how his dribbling would hold up in the PL though. But he is a goal threat and he plays with his head up.
I think he previously played centrally but Andy Diouf looked very promising last night for Inter against Madrid. Gave Cucurella a tough game.
What’s interesting about that? A 19-year old with less than 70 professional games, already at Real Madrid. His talent and quality is obvious, but really not surprising if he needs a bit of time. He probably knew he’s not joining to be a regular starter immediately.
As for Adeyemi, it seems like Barca have put total focus this summer on building the attack around Yamal. As things stand, it seems like Raphinha will be their main (false) #9 this season. Other players and positions will be to allow Yamal to be the best version of himself.
Fortunately, we also look at the player’s background, his entourage, and so on, and steer clear of “problematic candidates.” I think Dortmund is absolutely delighted to be rid of that whole lot.
That point raised was that his performances have been viewed as being awful. The fact we’d have needed him even more than they did does the opposite of mitigate against that.
