Will try it later today hopefully, battle brother!
Makes sense because the transfer window is closed now and the kids need some alternatives to play with.
Have the mobile version which comes with the Netflix app.
I’ll probably get the free one anyway though.
Tried playing fc24. The controls with the keyboard and mouse aren’t for me. Last played fifa 16 or 17 and left the game after that
No thanks. Already have Excel.
Amid reports of struggles in development - particularly in trying to create a whole new match engine - FM25 has been delayed until March next year.
It’s sounded for a while like this one will be a bit of a stinker, and now can’t see people wanting to start a campaign a couple of months from the IRL end of the season, only for FM26 to be released 6 months later. Honestly feels like they should just skip a year and go straight to that one at this point.
I still think it needs to be released. With such massive changes in the game, they need to iron out any bugs and faults to assist in a better implementation of FM2026.
Coming out so late will obviously have a huge impact on sales, but if I were Miles Jacobson, I would still release it but at a massively discounted price to allow the developers to work with gamers to find and fix any bugs.
Or the other option would be similar to Alpha Testing, give access to a select number of known and trusted streamers to allow them to run the game to check for any bugs (the downside to this is bugs generally aren’t found in Alpha Testing, but will more likely show up as the number of players downloading the game and running it increase)
Thing is, though, they won’t do those things - they’re still selling full-price preorders at £40+ and, while I agree they’ll need time to work on issues in time for the next one, I don’t think it’s right that paying customers should essentially be unpaid playtesters.
If they just skipped over it, it would give them essentially another year from now to work on things, and if in that time they wanted to release alpha or beta builds for free to the community to help them fix what needs fixing that would be up to them, but a good move imo.
This feels like a cash-grab for a product they know will be a mess on release and basically obsolete before it would ever get fixed.
Never having owned a console, I’m wondering if anyone on here has been playing the newly-available Red Dead for the first time? I played RD2 to death on PC and am considering getting it. Opinions?
I’ve been watching someone play it on a twitch stream and it looks fun. If you loved RDR2 then I would imagine you would enjoy this too. It was a good game when it originally came out on console. Worth seeing an online stream of it if you are unsure
I’ll probably get it… eventually. £50 for a nearly 15-year old game that’s only been given a minor glow-up is too rich for my blood lol
Yeah, thats true. Graphically not much has improved.
I’ve got a pretty big backlog i’m working through so have no plans to get it anytime soon too.
Kid kept asking for a PS5 even after getting a gaming laptop.
My issue with that is just this. You can get more games working in a PC than getting them in consoles.
Even the best PS games at some point or the other are getting the remastered pc versions.
Downloaded the pc version of Sony’s Spiderman game.
Kid’s enjoying playing that.
I’m just glad he’s skipped past playing the idiotic roblox , Minecraft games.
Still think that the games of today are way too dumbed down but I’ll introduce him to some action RPG’s once he’s comfortable with these ones.
I’m thinking I’ll introduce Dragon Age 2 when he’s probably 14 or something to him. He’s still only 11 , so not comfortable with the other story elements there.
Not a huge fan of DA2 with it’s well known weaknesses but it’s combat system and individualistic storyline of Hawke is probably a good entry for people wanting to get into action RPGs
They are but only after a fairly long wait. That will probably continue for it’s newer titles too as its baked into their business model to drive PS5 sales first and then cash in on PC sales several years later.
I was massively disappointed in DA2 when it first came out, as it was weaker in so many respects than the first game, but I think time has been reasonably kind to it. I replayed it recently (in preparation for DA4 lol) and had a good time with it.
I think it helps that it’s a fairly short RPG - 30ish hours or so - so it never outstays its welcome… compare that to DA Inquisition, which is an amazing 30-hour RPG stretched out to an obscenely bloated 100+ hour grindfest. I’ve actually replayed DA2 several times down the years for just this reason.
The one PS game that has not made the cross-over is Gran Turismo. Is also one of PS’s better games, so makes for a tough call when it comes to buying a PS or not as G.T is usually one of the go games to buy on it.
Finished it within 8 hours , which is one of my pet peeve within that game.
But for someone entering into RPG and the rather immersive combat system , it’s perfect
