So have not got any new games recently as my laptop is pisspoor at running games. It can barely handle FM, but can’t run Motorsport Manager.
Not in a position to upgrade my laptop yet - atleast not to a level for decent gaming, so wondering if anyone has gone down the Stadia route and what their thoughts on it are?
I haven’t bought or even read much on Stadia. From the odd conversation Streamers have had on the subject (in passing) it doesn’t appear to be a worthwhile option.
Interestingly, over the last 6 months I have seen suggestions that both Xbox and Alienware are developing prototypes of handheld systems that look somewhat like the Switch. I don’t know if either of these will be anything more than prototypes, but interesting all the same.
It’s not something I’ve looked into in any detail, but I noticed an article the other day about a journalist who’d been playing Cyberpunk 2077 on Nvidia’s cloud gaming service Geforce Now, and had some good things to say about it. Could be worth a look.
The bit that has me thinking is that it runs via your internet conection so less powerful computers should still be able to run all games, where as my laptop is only 4m RAM so most newer games will see it unable to handle them if I download the game itself.
I remember when it first got released a there were a lot of negative comments and reviews so wondering if it has improved since it’s launch
Epic is trolling me. Today’s free game is City skylines. I can’t add it to my library at the moment (probably too many people trying to do so at once!) Also, I just bought it in the recent steam sale
Thanks for this - i hadn’t realised GoG were also giving out free games. I’ve picked this one up now and look forward to seeing what else they make available
Thanks again. I hadn’t tried the browser before you posted. I have still had problems via the launcher so have just tried the web browser - I forget its available there as I’m usually scrambling to remember my passwords.
The browser option worked, and it is now logged in my library yeay!
Thanks, I hadn’t realised either and have just picked those 3 up. I’m so used to Steam bundling things together I never thought about checking the DLC (and I read somewhere that when ELite Dangerous was free on Epic they included the DLC then - but now i will need to check on that incase it was like skylines and you still had to add the dlc manually.)
If it is anything like yesterday… It massively dampened my expectations, so I hope they’ll manage to actually surprise me in the best way. Look at me, all worked up because someone is giving something for free, just not what I would like.
I’ve got 70-80 games free via Epic, and I would say at least 60 are probably fairly decent titles. For example, it wasn’t that long ago that they gave Elite dangerous away free (possibly with the DLC already released).
I don’t know if the games you were hoping for will appear, or if they do it will be with all the DLC, but I would expect there must be a fair chance of it happening as they are older games that will be heavily discounted by Steam et al over Christmas. A lot of people who had wanted these games would already have it. So the cost to Epic of a give away can’t be that high, and would appear to be a bargain
To be honest, I expected The Witcher 3 with both expansions more than anything else - and maybe even Fallout 4 (with all the DLCs) or Deus Ex games. I thought, this will run for about two weeks, surely there are two or three really big titles coming up. I actually couldn’t think of any other games that I would be interested (Prey maybe) - does this mean I’m getting old?
