Sorry mate, went AWOL with VAR depression for a few weeks there, just checked and saw this post.
I went with a 570 Asus board paired with a Ryzen 9 3900X with a 380 EVO 1 TB M2. I figured fuckit it was slightly slower, but at least available. It cost $399 for the CPU and the whole setup $1050. It motors through load ups but that’s the PCI 4.0 read times shit they are great. I’m loading games in 5 seconds or less. Also seeing nice up time on my video rendering, so its a good enough rig and I’m just ignoring the new gen of DDR 5 and Ryzen releases. My GPU is a 1080Ti first gen founders so I’m a little depressed that’s now my choke point but its still managing okay, just tears at high res but as I’m not one of those that clocks the frames to the nth degree I don’t care. On my 4k monitor it looks stellar if a little chuggy at higher res. The irony for me is if I play warhammer at 4k res I can’t see the screen properly so have to max up the UI, so its a bit silly.

Question for the group. I used to play footy manager and early days Cham Manager but by 2016-2019 it got too damn involved and micro management was just insane. I liked the game in concept but got stuck in the weeds too much and burned out.
But, looking at Epic I can get FM2021 Touch for $19.99 + $10 discount right now. Wondering 2 things? If I get a license is there a way I can LAN play on a single license (I know I’m cheap). Does it cut down on the minutiae and return you to a more simpler Footy Manager experience?
I may be wrong but I thought the game now had a ‘classic’ option which reduces the complexity if you select it.
