Philippe Coutinho

In my opinion, he should go to the USA.

Why not China?

I think Keita has played more than him.
Just coming off major injury.
28 ish?
Huge wages, 2 more years on contract.
Hasn’t show that he is worth £40m since leaving us.
No teams really want him, or he is rejecting them all.

I see a lot in the above for Barca to squirm uncomfortably about, I find that comforting so let me enjoy it for a couple more years.

Chinese League don’t have the money anymore.

If Barcelona have defaulted on paying a factoring company then it’s an FFP breach and I hope they get wound up. Real Madrid as well.

We’ve been paid and I can’t see us doing Barcelona any favours in terms of taking Coutinho back, unless it’s for pittance and he takes a wage cut.

This should be in the Funny Pictures and Jokes thread.

Both Coutinho and Barcelona have been taught a harsh expensive lesson by LFC. So I suppose we can afford to be magnanimous in this moral victory.
If we could get him cheaply enough, and Barcelona subsidise his wages, it cant do us any harm to have him in the squad… Klopp knows how to get the best from him. Besides, he remains better than others we have on the bench.

Depends if his back has cleared up.

If Klopp wanted him then fair enough otherwise he can lay in the bed he created.

Probably because there’s a very good chance, he’ll get infected with a man made virus.

Weren’t there also just reports that Greizeman was going to us for about the same price?

Seems barca press generating rumors and feelers on players they want off the payroll.

Both still excellent players but don’t see the need.

Id take him back for 30 million,

And have a clause inserted in the deal that Barca can’t sign any of our players for the next 10 years, and if they want to, they pay a huge premium!

The problem is that he is on something like 165k a week at Barca and his contract goes to 2023. Why would he want to leave that for probably half the wages. Barca are going to find it hard to get rid of him. I’d take him back for 30m if he did accept a massive salary cut or if Barca agreed to continue to pay a portion of his wages.

Barcelona is signing freebies. Their best shot at our players is Adrian. :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

Barcelona are taking the piss. If anything, after they ruined him, they should be paying Liverpool to take him back and not the other way around.

We know how much value Klopp puts in character. We don’t sign players that think they’re bigger than the club. We don’t sign dick heads. We don’t keep players that show they don’t have the right attitude.

What makes Barca, or anyone else for that matter, think we’re going to spend a penny on a guy who engineered a move away and feigned injury as part of his attempt to force the move.

Selling him was one of the best transfers this club has made in a long time. Financed Virg and Alisson deals and allowed us to change the way we played to better suit what Klopp wanted.

The guy isn’t even worthy of having his own thread.

I heard from my mate (he supports the Bitters) that they’re in for Coutinho. He sounded serious as well. Really can’t see that happening.
Surely as an ex player you should have some sense of loyalty… even for phil!

What’s it with Everton and washed up Latino divas???

Is it worth having him back to replace Gini at a bargain price?

No. I’d rather Jones be pushed to take over.

If he ACTUALLY came in free, hell yes. I suspect his bad back will have been cured by having his tail so firmly rammed between his legs. Sensible wages and he was verging on world class. No reason he can’t do so again.
