Our lads were pants today and deserved to be on the losing side. The end.
Poor start. Then we got into the game and did well. Equalized. Then Partey did a number on Diaz, our best player.
TAA did his ankle in, and last 20 min of half played conservatively. Got caught out again in the goal at the half time break. A good first half bookended with sloppiness causing us to ship two goals.
Oliver was shit. 50-50 calls going against us. Soft pen, with Jesus being “smart”. Second half, we were under the cosh just before the penalty. Had several occasions where one of our players could have put their boot through it to clear, but kept giving it back to them.
Diaz getting a yellow, when it was afoot race with Martinelli cutting in front of him. I suppose Diaz had to magically vanish in that situation. Gomez with a ridiculous yellow, for a throw when Tomayasu been doing that all game.
Then 90th min, Ramsdale from collecting the ball to releasing it, takes over 20 seconds. Then VVD/Ali make a mess, with Jesus looking for pen again. Then 3 minutes of dunno what. Game freezes.
Overall, we can’t be that sloppy and give away easy to prevent goals.
