Well, what a game, I thought everyone on our team played well! It could have ended 10-0!
Tuned in to the game wanting to get an idea of what this whole Atalanta deal was about, but was disappointed. It certainly felt like men against boys out there today.
Alisson was literally our Greek god in goal, nothing was getting past him, though we did ride our luck to the clean sheet. Overjoyed for Joe and Rhys, both played really well though I think Joe shaded it a little today. Rhys played like he’s been in our team for years, never looked out of place.
The midfield was bossed by Hendo and Gini who I felt were both outstanding today. And little more needs to be said about our attack, Diogo really looks on fire and Mane/Salah still look as sharp as always.
I don’t think we could have enjoyed a better lead in to the weekend’s big game. Let’s hope nobody got hurt, and we’ll be in great shape to get a positive result at the Etihad on Sunday. YNWA!
