I´ll preface this by saying I rate his talents, I want us to set up to help him thrive, and I advocated for him to stay on and play through, but he was really awful today. Really bad.

Some improvement in the second half.

Technically he’s a phenomenal player. His confidence is seemingly in the bin though and while his work rate can’t be faulted in fairness to him, he’s (at the moment) giving the ball away a lot and playing within himself.

I don’t know if it’s just a “I don’t like this league, I miss home” or something more easily fixed, but we are yet to see the player I absolutely salivated over (fnarr!) when we signed him.

He had an effort on goal, that’s about it.

The front 4 were disjointed and we put together about 3 quality moves at most the entire game.

Wirtz had some great performances for Germany last season. Expecting it again next two weeks but I doubt it’ll help us.

Ipswich and Bournemouth will be 2 of the more comfortable wins this season.
