Post match: Bournemouth v Liverpool (EPL 24/1/26 5.30pm)

Totally agree. We’ve been patient but it’s half a season without really seeing two good performances strung together. Dom aside there’s not one player playing to their level and the team looks completely disjointed still even when we largely put out the same players we had last season.

He’s had a lot to deal with. It’s always hard to get a team up again after winning something so huge but the title should have been a springboard not a weight around their necks. Yes, he’s had to deal with a huge challenge in the summer with the loss of Jota and the turnover in the squad was significant. But those things only buy you so much grace.

You could even say he’s been unlucky with the injuries but when you fail to get them to gel after six months you have to think he’s not going to get them to. Brittle at the back, overrun in midfield and blunt in attack. He’s stopped the rot but has yet to actually turn us around. We just bumble through games rather ineffectively and sometimes we get a result. We look a mile off the team that raced out to a comfortable lead in the league last season.

I don’t blame him entirely but I also think the recruitment was hugely exciting and he’s failed to really get a solid, consistent tune out of any of them. I think you’re right with the voice thing, whatever he’s saying either isn’t working or isn’t being heard and at this point it doesn’t really matter which it is.

We’ve some huge decisions on the horizon. Ali, Virg and Salah will all be on their way in the next year or two. You want the right man at the helm to oversee that kind of change, not someone who you haven’t 100% faith in. Missing the CL will no doubt see clubs circling our players. If they’re not sold on Slot or wonder whether he might get the boot early into next season then a move may seem tempting.

Only way to take any kind of charge of this is to make the change. I don’t say that lightly but there comes a point where it’s only heading one way.

So pissed and hopping mad at the outcome…best way was getting up, do some hoovering/vacuuming. I am all chilled now.

The idea that we’re dominating is misleading. Possession doesn’t equal threat, and we’re not generating enough genuine high-quality chances. We control the ball, but control without penetration doesn’t produce high-danger opportunities and that’s the real issue.

Even the commentator said why is the defence only back peddling.

How the hell did Salah stay on for the whole match. Rio showed he’s worth a lot more than Gakpo. Why didn’t Ekitikè start the match?
Why have we only one player, Szoboszlai, who can run fast?
Oh forget it, no hang on what’s the point of possession if you don’t use it?

It shou;ld probably be van Dijk, Salah and Alisson’s last season. van Dijk and Salah look in terminal decline and, while Alisson is still very good, we have his replacement sat on the bench.

Time to blow it up and start again with a new leadership group, new coach and new mindset. It’s like Shankly looking round the dressing room and realizing his lads just didn’t have it anymore.

So what happens now…the inquest…we have a mental blockage at 20 mins…then fight back…then a mental blockage at 80mins…why did he take off Frimpong, I thought he was ok… Salah…mmmm think the strike factor has gone…the speed has gone…gets beat by defenders, it used to be the other way round.. I’ll never stop loving LFC, but something has to change, mentality? fitness? attitude? …it has to happen quick…but what I know not…

I mean, we’re averaging 2–3 shots on target a game. That’s not control; that’s sterile possession.”

Quick mention, how open was our midfield when Szob went to right back

**Arne Slot: **

“Maybe this game sums up our season. Conceding a goal down to 10 men and conceding another goal in extra time. This is probably the story of the season for us.”

Paisley and Shankley were ruthless when it came to the end game. Salah’s performances have dropped considerably, Van Dijk is losing it and some of them dont have it.

We’ve had 5 players sent off against us, those games accounted for 4 of our 10 league wins (from memory).

How is it the story of our season that we concede with 10 on the pitch?

He’s just saying stuff now, anything.

Liverpool got everything they deserved for another utterly abject performance tonight. Bournemouth had won one in 14 prior to this, but they were up against a side that has been in bottom-half form since September. This squad is flawed, but should they be this bad? Not a chance.

I couldn’t watch tonight. I don’t know how we played really. But the result is a disaster given our situation.

The club are to weak to make a change.
The season will just fizzle out and he’ll go in summer after weve finished 7th and given an utterly pathetic defense of our title
