Bloody foreigners.
Coming over here, playing good football, making us happy.
Itās a flipping disgrace!
And not a hobnail boot between āem.
If I had to name one poster on TAN who I consider to be an absolute deluded knobhead I know who it would be.
The more I think about that cheating cunt on VAR yesterday the more I think itās way beyond the point where the club has to act.
He hasnāt ārefereedā us in the PL since the VVD derby at Goodison. 3 and a half years ago. That tells you all you need to know. Heās done a few cup games against lower opposition and some PL on VAR but I think the club acted against this cunt behind the scenes and the powers that be agreed not to appoint him as ref in the PL.
The Odegaard handball and the Jota incident yesterday is enough to convince me he just canāt help himself. Heās a fucking cheat, simple as that.
The club needs to stop pussy-footing around on this, call him out publicly and tell the PGMOL that his involvement in any of our matches in future is totally unacceptable.
Youād be in a different category.
Itās like the Father Ted acceptance speech.
That concludes āgobshitesā. We now move to āliarsā.
Nothing like Holgates on Mitoma last night, but for me they were certainly very physical.
An earlier post referred to how some teams are known as āphysicalā and the refs buy into it and officiate accordingly, which I certainly agree with.
Odd thing with Coote is he does nothing but offsides on VAR.
I canāt remember him referring anything to the monitor when heās been on VAR, sounds like he reads his book and only gets an alert when there is a goal.
Heās really sheepish when he refs our matches like heās just genuinely shit more than corrupt.
Might be worth making a chart. As for Oliver the guy gets far too an easy ride on here.
There are an ok few, I donāt think Madley was bad at the Man City game yesterday.
Edit: Famous last words as Madley is doing our game on Wednesday
He did our other Luton game, Bournemouth 4-0 and Palace where he sent off Ayew off, he did give the foul on Endo to be fair and I do think the penalty was fair he gave on that. Anyhow.
I donāt think he is the worst but I think his player management is very poor. He often seems to antagonise a situation rather than calm it down and bring things under control.
There was a point a few years ago when Oliver was clearly the best, and by an absolute mile.
Since then his star has faded a lot, and the nadir was the Van Dijk injury - not so much missing it, which can happen to any ref - but the discussion afterwards, in which he said if we wanted Pickford sent off the players should have made more of a fuss about it and demanded a red. Thatās an absolute crackers thing for a ref to suggest. That players should actively hassle the ref for decisions they want.
Since then I find him a bit meh. Not that arsed either way.
Worst referee Iāve seen this season was in the Leicester U18 vs Arsenal U18 game. Arsenal, down to 10 men for a horrific challenge by Chido Obi-Martin, went 1-0 down before turning the game around and winning 2-1.
The scorer of the second goal, Omari Benjamin, celebrated the goal and then was sent off for ātime wastingā. Apparently the referee thought it was appropriate to send off the player for celebrating the goal. Shocking stuff.
I donāt recall any challenge that stepped over the line in that the challenge was done in a way to hurt our players
They did show the Toney/ Robertson collision though and Iāll say this without any doubt whatsoever, they give that all day long if the score is 0-0. That is what we are up against, Iāve no fucking doubt whatsoever, the game is gone so they throw us a bone to make themselves look impartial. Absolute fucking cheating cunts.
This is how deranged things have become
- Robbo commits a foul and gets away with it not being given as a penalty
- We imagine a scenario that didnt happen (the incident happened when the game was more in the balance) and invent a situation in which the refs produce a different outcome (give the pen).
- We then get about mad about the refs theoretically doing something they havent actually done.
The whole context of this is a foul our defender committed in the box that was not given as a penalty.
I donāt see what you find so difficult to understand.
What I said is no different to people saying stuff like āIf that happened down the other end heād have given itā, āthat would have been a foul anywhere else on the pitchā or āthat would have been a yellow in the 2nd halfā.
My whole point being I 100% believe Coote (VAR) would have told Oliver to look at the monitor if the score had been 0-0. I say this because I think heās a cheat. There is enough in his past to back this up. I mean, ffs, he denied us a stonewall penalty earlier in the match because he saw āmutual holdingā and no matter how many times I re-watch it all I see is the defender bundling Jota over with no interest where the ball actually is. Knowing what Coote is like I believe he would be capable of interpreting incidents differently depending on what impact that decision would have on the score. Again, I say that because I think heās a cheat. If you disagree thatās fine by me.
It was a foul though. Youāre getting wound up about the prospect of a ref giving a foul for a something that was a foul and then treating that as vindication in your righteous indigitation.

Are you missing the point though?
There is a view that decisions even out, that we get the odd rub of the green. The decisions yhat we get usually make no difference to the trajectory of the match, or to the outcome.
Liverpool were in control on Saturday, so the Robbo foul was conceivably easy to bypass. Let the pundits have their moment about how lucky we areā¦
As @jaffod says, at 0-0 in a tighter game Coote gives a penalty. I think there is no doubt about that.
Whether it was a foul or not is irrelevant. I think Coote would have acted differently if he thought it would alter the outcome of the match. That is all. In my opinion.
If having that opinion makes me āderangedā in your view then Iāll just assume English isnāt your first language.
The best ref is the Aussie guy. I refuse to learn his name though, because if I know his name, then heās part of the show, and thatās part of the problem.
