In terms of Stats, Kerkez has scored more than Wirtz in this season for LFC…
In some ways we have an embarrassment of riches with a gulf of poverty. Jones, Szoboszlai and Wirtz, and even Grav, Frimpong and Mac Allister, can play in any 3 or 4 positions. And yet, we do not seem to have a nailed down position for them that works for everyone else and so none of the positions these guys can cover is “occupied” by someone.
The situation with our forwards is confusing. Even Ekitike. There is limited interpay between them, i.e. short passes, knock-ons from medium/long passes and so on. Inevitably we find our selves in the opposition third, end up tripping over each other and a hoof over the top finds us overcommitted in attack and short at the back.
Man u have over taken us ..thats how bad we are.
I’m not saying title is gone at this moment, there is time enough to fix that.
But how to?
We spent a lot of money on new signings. For sure no bad players.
What I mean is when you do so you have to have a style of play that suits them. They were not bought for benchwarming.
That’s what I’m missing.
No doubt there are issues there but we still have a wonderful team. The unfortunately Wirtz isn’t up to PL speed yet and the PL speed has pass Salah by.
.
I don’t believe Kerkez is good enough yet and Konate is just biding time. Watch him when the lad breaks away and scores, he gives up running in the end.
.
Lastly I don’t think the keeper is anywhere near LFC standard. He is probably half the reason we are conceding some much.
I aree with you about Wirtz. He hasn’t adapted to the physically demands of PL.
But sometimes I think his teammates are not yet up to his ideas.
I thought that Wirtz would be better after hes played every team once.
Hes a talent but hes a type of player Lfc havent had for years.
Slot has huge problems. He likes the slow transition from defence to attack but coaches have sussed us out and it’s not working. He looks like he hasn’t got a clue how to change things. No wonder our forwards look so poor, they are up against nine defenders by the time the ball gets to them. Virgil and Konate are the worst culprits. When our midfielders get the ball they try and play it in little tight triangles and dispossessed very quickly. Can’t see where our next win in the Premier League is going to come from. A total shambles at the moment.
No idea why Robbo was dropped. Changed a winning team. Only needed to make 1 change due to Isak but made 2 and Kerkez had yet another stinker
Not trying to scapegoat anyone then you only name two after everybody was shite. The cult leader Chiesa came on gave the ball away 5 times and was dispossed 3 times. Wirtz missed another chance and generally did nothing. Hugo never got involved.
Our defending would be hilarious if you weren’t a supporter.
Player lets an opponent past him with the ball then stands in acres of space pointing. Just look at Gakpo and Szoboszlai.
We leave the midfield empty leaving the opposition with all the time in the world to lance runners build up an attack.
We line up with 6 or 7 players on the edge of the box watching another player trying to defend against a triangle of 3 opposition players taking the piss. Then they are surprised when these 3 players flip the ball centrally to an unmarked midfielder who proceeds to unleash a goalscoring opportunity.
We somehow get a foot on the ball and just proceed to pass the ball back to the opposition midfield, rinse and repeat.
We don’t put any pressure on and just wait for a miracle.
No aggression no marking no awareness yet on dead ball situations we look even more clueless.
FFS just put the ball out of play and reorganise or something. Stop looking like a bunch of dummies.
It’s not like you have to make a tackle however you must put some pressure on, try to win second balls, watch your man (problem here is noone takes responsibility for marking anyone).
Make it easy and give responsibility rather than hoping some bugger will take it on himself to take responsibility, go back to man to man. At least then finger pointing will be easier as it stands some are getting free rides.
I won’t say anything about offside trap as it’s too much for them at the moment.

Over £200 million on 2 centre-forwards to play in a side that doesn’t create chances for centre-forwards.
This isn’t knee-jerk either, I’ve been saying it for a long time. Being a CF in this team means feeding off scraps and moving away from dangerous areas to try and get involved.
Nunez, for all his faults, had the same problem. Jota as well. We play 2 wide men who’s first instinct is to cut inside and get a shot off. Neither Salah or Gakpo has any interest in feeding a centre-forward and both resort to wafting a shite ball in to nobody in particular if they can’t shoot themselves.
The midfield is no better. No craft, no guile, no vision. Pass it sideways and backwards.
It’s fucking madness to have spent that much money and find ourselves in that situation. To me the only solution is a complete change of formation with either/both CF’s starting and being the focus for our attacks. It’s on Slot to change things up and make something stick otherwise it’s only going to end one way.
Kerkez was very solid against Arsenal after two pretty shit performances against Newcastle and Bournemouth.
Mo has been well below his level, but he has the flashes of brilliance in him, no doubt.
Not sure why everyone is going on about Robbo after his defending for Chelsea and Frankfurt’s goals. Getting at Kerkez for their first is ridiculously harsh, once you lose that first header it’s a nightmare to defend.
I share your opinion. Thus I think we should play two up front, and one of them could be Mo.
Overlapping fullbacks could do the work on the wings. One striker is easier to defend than two. With Mo and Cody in the lineup they should play in and around the box imo.
That will offer more possibilities to play in our strikers
Atm Kerkez is clearly out of his depth at this level. He might get better but there is no way he should be starting ahead of Robbo.
Those two were particularly awful , as they have been all season. They shouldn’t be starting , simple as that.
Kerkez was LB of the year last year. He is not bad.
That was Kerkez’ one decent performance and Salah’s goal yesterday was a fluke that came too late to even matter.
