Mark my words, it will all come back to haunt us if we lose out on the title by 3 points…Sorry for derailing the topic but it is not news that Thiago and especially Naby Keita are very injury-prone. However, we chose to pin our title hopes on an 18 year old kid coming from the championship and a 20 year old man who is still learning the damn trade in midfield.
What is FSG and Klopp doing? Last season, FSG and Klopp to some extent fucked up the january window by signing a ghost and Kabak, leading us to a very frantic last 3 game.
This season, I would expect FSG and Klopp to learn from our mistakes last season but nope. We are still doing the same fucking thing in the transfer market…
I don’t know what’s up with him today. All of us can see we are creaking defensively today. Conceding 2 goals today should be a huge sign for him that his system defensively is not working. We got lucky with Jones’ goals as well and that should have been the signal to game manage a bit.
Why he stuck with the gung-ho attitude for the entire game even after Firmino’s subs is a mystery…
Having calmed down a bit now, I’m still reeling at how we let them scythe through us time after time. That game is now a training video for every other team we meet this season. We didn’t have an answer to it. That is deeply troubling to me.
Not fair to Elliott and Jones, who have been outstanding this season. We’ll never have academy players taking a step up for us if we maintain this attitude.
This looks like basically wanting us to do away with the entire basis on which we have built the team and just go the City way?
We were poor today no doubt. But it’s unlikely to have a lasting hangover. From the get go we looked off, poor passes, poor control etc etc. It happens. No time for shitting the bed. Look at what the issues were and tweak what needs to be tweaked.
I think Robbo could very well be facing a stint on the bench though.
We weren’t at it today. Normally most of those balls get cut out by Fab or Hendo or they get hounded into going backwards. No “blueprint” there. We just weren’t switched on early enough. Only Jones looked sharp enough.
Absolutely.
Nat is a fighter. Matip’s a floater.
Floating across the ground for a well timed interception or playing the ball out from the back is great in the technical games of skill.
But against Brentford ( the new Stoke, even the kit is virtually the same) you need a big ugly bugger who batters the opponent to the ground as he heads the ball away…Nat Phillips
Let’s be objective here, shall we. Last season, we had Hendo, Gini, Fabinho, Keita, AOC,Milner who are the senior players in the squad. AOC and Keita were semi-permanently crocked. There were at least 3 players ahead of Jones in the pecking order. Jones had the luxury of time to learn from these folks on and off the pitch.
And now we throw Jones and Elliot into the heat of battle, expecting them to produce wonders all of the time for a team that wants to challenge on all fronts? This is the real unfairness to them.
