Can we please go back to our 3 nillers pls
I know, I had a wtf moment when I saw Firmino coming on, then was even more surprised that we decided to slug it out till the end rather than closing shop.
Really fucked off with that game. Surprised the dog didn’t have a heart attack with the frequency of expletive outbursts during it.
So many shite performances from so many of our players. How did Fab not react at all to their first goal? VVD very slow to react for the second after it went past about 3 of our players.
Robbo trying hard as usual, but fuck all clicking for him. Mane even worse. Opposition teams can almost ignore our left side, knowing that Mane will just lose possession or Robbo will crash his crosses straight into a defender. If there was a stat for how far a player can miss attempted shots on goal by, Robbo must be a contender.
My neighbours were having a outdoor get together…they learnt a few more words
Agreed Konate could be an option. Haven’t seen enough of him yet.
But refinement isn’t required. What Brentford/Stoke require is a big brave brute whose mind is uncluttered by skill or refinement just concentrated on being first to the ball with no thought for his own safety. Nat Philips is a first class championship defender which is what’s required for the likes of Brentford.
The problem is he gets absolutely flogged by the Scottish national side during the international breaks as well, so never gets that chance to fully recharge.
My stress levels are calming down…now for AJ…
Hence his name ‘notasuperfan’
Embarrassing to blame today’s result on not buying a midfielder when Alisson, Trent, Joel, VvD, Robbo, Fabinho, Mané and Jota played below their usual level and actually two midfielders (Trent and Hendo) did very good.
It was a tough match to digest. For whatever reason (perhaps after how the first goal was conceded), it felt that each time Brentford managed to go forward, ithey were going to score. The defense seemed like those of several years past, constant panicking and unsettled throughout the match. Even Ali seemed to be off today.
It’s one of those match that everyone played poorly collectively. Learn from this and move onto the next one!
Was thinking about this today watching Vardy, love him or hate him he seems to have a ruthless and clinical edge about him. Of course that could just be my perception and his conversion is equal or less than Mo’s, he just seems like a shark when he gets into a chance.
EDIT: regarding the match, it’s annoying and agitating as hell but it also happens.
I’m going to be honest, I love Jota and I will never say anything negative about him but for me he can be very frustrating.
It’s only Matchday 6 of 38.
Scott Jones and Maria have been absent for several weeks now. Hope they are well.
2 points pissed away.
People talking about the defence being poor as if it’s a one-off. My theory is we can’t fucking defend and if more teams had a good go at us we’d be leaking goals left, right and centre. We have no resilience whatsoever, we fold under the slightest bit of pressure or rely on Alisson to pull off a couple of worldies. Same happened against Milan a couple of weeks back, only got into our half twice first half and scored 2 goals.
Our game management is non-existent. After our 3rd I said to my lad it would be nice to just see out the last 20 minutes but there was no fucking chance of that happening and so it proved. I’m sure I’m not the only one who thought that.
We scored 3 really good goals but they were accompanied by the usual fucking nonsense that we talk about week-in, week-out. Sick to death of watching us piss away chances.
On it’s day this team can out-football any team in the league, including City. However, what it does in both boxes will cost us dear.
People going on about laughing at the plebs on red cafe and blue moon when they lose their shit and overreact over drop points.
Look through this thread, we have the exact same going on.
Yep…where are you???
what do we talk about week in week out?
all you talk about is conspiracies against us,
i didnt see any evidence of that today.
all i saw today was an oppostion (who we should have beaten) who never gave up
but i agree about the 2 points dropped today, if that helps…
Fab hasn’t taken up that central defender position when Matip or VVD go out wide for a long time now, also his positioning ‘today’ was appalling and he picked up noone all day.
He was good when we were in possesson but he needs to smaten up defensively particularly when the opposition play with 2 strikers and get midfield runners attacking the box.
Another thing is that at the back we are far too spread out, even if Fabs did slot ‘back’ into a CB role when we defended. Who cares if the ball might go wide? if they send it wide then move out it’s not rocket science, however losing 1 or 2 defenders just because theball might go out wide is silly. We need to wise up it was really as if we hadn’t done our homework, our players seemed to lack concentration today, they weren’t picking up second balls, anticipated nothing … it wasn’t good enough from anyone however tactically even with these shortfalls if Fabs had filled the space left (often by Matip going wide) we would have been a lot better off.
Some of us talk about our constant profligacy in front of goal. I do because it pisses me off. Others feel the same way and see it as a problem. Maybe you don’t. That’s fine.
I don’t get the ‘conspiracies’ comment. Did I say there was anything dodgy today? I don’t believe I did, although I could have mentioned the foul on Jota that went unpunished. Strange comment to make.
Not questioning Klopp for taking off Curtis but don’t understand bringing on Bobby.
Almost arrogant to bring on another attacker when we struggle defensively.
i agree we need to be more prolific in front goal, no arguing there, I agree with you…
but all you ever talk about, week in week out, is bad refeering, and conspiracies agianst us
