A surpassing end to end game!
Great to see some of our lesser used players get a run out as they all played well. Hard luck Jarrell, don’t worry!
The Cody/Curtis/Dominik/Luis front line was interesting. Believe that was used in early pre-season when we had no recognised striker.
Cody with an excellent game to cap off a good win!
YNWA
Done. Scruffy. Next.
Joint MOTM awards: Cody for the goals and Jaros for the saves.
Job done.
3 po…next round.
No injuries.
Villa Chelsea and City all going out?
Utd in quarters at Anfield please.
Scruffy, raggedy ass performance. Some really irritating and sloppy passing in midfield. But also some lovely end-to-end counter attacking play.
It’ll do. Only lad I worry about is Quansah. I know he wants to be the next VVD, but there’s no point acting calm and nonchalant if you are frequently fluffing back passes. Hopefully he grows out of it. He’s got all the talent, so it’s not really something that can be coached out.
And Gakpo should start on Saturday. He’s earned it.
We will get Man Utd just away it’s obvious.
When’s the draw ?
We won and we advance. Job well done as Brighton are a good side.
Lots of rotation, which was good to see as Slot has been playing a strong team as much as possible. It was still a decent side, and the subs were very strong and strangely we slid back a bit after they came in.
Gakpo the pick of the bunch. Nice brace, the first was superb.
Quansah, chin up lad. We know you are a good player. I thought he had a decent game. The error for the first goal was a lapse, and the deflection for the second Brighton goal can happen to anyone.
Slot had a choice to make. Let Quansah finish the game? That’s probably what I would have done. But the manager possibly thought there might have been a slight danger the error and the misfortune would get inside Quansah’s head, so he put Konate on.
In a way it was brutal, but Slot is paid to make the decisions and we advanced.
My hope is that behind the scenes Slot has a word with Quansah to tell him he sees him, and that he’s a good player and in his plans. I would hate for this to be a moment where Quansah loses some confidence and slips back.

i just can´t
This is fabulous!
I think it’s after the Spurs games
Tonight after these games I think
I don’t think taking Quansah off in injury time was a very clever piece of man management
Can you imagine what it would have done to his confidence though if he was responsible for a third goal going in and us losing the game? People are wondering if taking him off might damage his confidence, perhaps Slot was making sure it didn’t get worse (hope that was the case anyway).
Absolutely. The manager has done the right thing: maximised the team’s chances of winning the game.
He can deal with the player’s ego afterwards.
was wondering were @Alright_Now_Legend went… Looks like he was found in the spanish commentary box:
