This week has been the perfect summary of our season.
At least no one got injured… FUCK!
Interesting stat during the game. Liverpool’s 30 games, we have been out run 26 of them. To my mind that is 26 games where we have been outworked, so we have gained keeping the ball and have lost intensity. I knew that, just didn’t know it was that bad. This is most likely relevant to the next point.
The manager can’t setup a team where we can defend. We have the players, so its not that. This has actually reminded me on Rodger’s, that guy was so stubborn that he refused to get in a specialist to help.
The more and more I watch Slot, the more he reminds me of Rodger’s, with the only difference being a PL title.
On the game, 87th minute, needing a goal and defending a corner. The ball is cleared, and there is absolutely nobody even near the half way line. It might have just been the camera angle and there was actually someone, I don’t think so.
The result is no surprise. I guess there will be lots of excuses. Injury’s before the game, during the game, we were tired from the CL game, Brighton low block/no low block confused the team, etc.

Another game, another goal conceded with the first shot on goal by the opposition. Ekitike coming off was the nail in the coffin. Curtis coming on for him meant we had no threat up front. Even Chiesa coming on to play up top would have at least had a willing runner, which was needed up top.
Kerkez with a smart goal should have galvanized us. Wasn’t to be. Welbeck was just in line with the ball to take the lead. But after that, we didn’t do anything. Frimpong struggled against Minteh all game, yet nothing was done about it, except putting Dom there for a bit and pushing Frimpong forward - the second Welbeck goal came after that.
Only bright spark was Rio. Even then there were situations when he skipped past one, he had another two in front of him. There should be a runner getting to him to play a one two.
The midfield was gassed as usual by 80 minutes. Yet they all stayed on. In the those last few minutes you could see players struggling to move. Yes Nyoni is a kid. But for 6 minutes injury time, at least he can actually move.
One point from the last three games is not good enough. Same mistakes over and over. International break now. Then cup games, sandwiched between Fulham. Get knocked out of the cups, and the pressure will be untenable.

On Wednesday, Salah scored the fourth goal on 62 minutes. Around 67 mins Salah indicated he needed to come off, and Slot made his first sub.
He then made his second sub on 74’, and then waited until the 89th minute to make his final three.
That’s why the team looked sluggish.

Normal service resumed after an uplifting result against Gala.
Players heads are gone, nobody knows how to play, we can’t pass, can’t create and can’t defend.
Absolute no gameplan it seems, which has been evident at times last part of last season and all of this season.

We let a 35 year old Pascal Gross and 40 year old James Milner school us. We had Grav Mac Szobo and Jones all supposed to be in the prime of their careers (or close to) and none of them looked like they gave much of a shit.
I thought Wolves and losing to the worst team in the league was a new low, I thought Spurs and being outrun by 8KM was a new low, I’m thinking this won’t be the newest low we see this season.
