Post match: Brighton v Liverpool (EPL 21/3/26 12.30)

Started well high pressing some intensity, Ekitike gets injured, they score from there first attack, we drop deep, can’t then press, intensity goes, we lose.

Oh and poor subs.

How did Hinshelwood not get a red?

One advantage recording and watching it later, you can fast forward through the dross, watched 5 mins :face_blowing_a_kiss::smiling_face:

On Gakpo, just not an intelligent footballer, he runs at one pace, doesn’t see passes, and just dribbles an shoots.

Why would he want to prove anything, when he and everybody else knows that it doesn’t matter to Slot who performs and who doesn’t. He’ll still pick the same players. And for the record, Jones wasn’t among the worse. If anything, he tried harder than most, which speaks volumes about the others.

There is nothing difficult to decide. He is a quality player, and he is literally home-grown.
The only possible problem might be convincing him to stay.

Pride, professionalism? I like Curtis and def wouldn’t want us to sell him. Was just disappointed with him today. As you say he wasn’t the only one

the fitness issue is a really big concern. from the fittest team in the last 5-6 seasons to a team that can barely run in just 2 seasons

Another crock of shit.Compliments of a completely clueless Slot.
That is this season fucked, now for next season,

Oddly Dom went into the “let’s consolidate” / “let’s get back to the 1st 10-15 min” mode. Issue being we don’t know how and ultimately we just lose all momentum. His actions smacks of arrogance, lack of trust in team mates, poor team cohesion or instruction. Either way we lost our way after (fortuitously) getting back level.

I would guess that this is instruction and linked to being caught on the break so often early in the season. Keeping it close and tight is fine but we just don’t know how to capitalize if that is the immediate plan after we get back into a game. That mentality is fine if you are scrapping for each point but we come across as arrogant enough to believe that we deserve 3 points and will get them.

There is something wrong in the kitchen.

We are systemicaly arrogant, complacent and entitled.

Dom is one player who can hold his head high this season. We do for sure miss a Milner/Hendo type to enforce high standards

Wolves. Spurs. Brighton. Even after this dog turn of a season, win those and we are grabbing hold of third spot. But alas, even that modest task is beyond the current version of LFC.

So far below the sum of its parts.

Slot will surely have to go. The only thing that remains to be seen is when. If we are going to do it before the summer, now is the time, given the international break.

Another if: If we do make the change now, will the new manager e.g. Alonso, be available? And if not, would we rather appoint Rob Page for the run in, or perhaps consider someone like Stevie to come in and try to fire them up?

No guarantees that an interim would be better than even a poor Slot, but it has to be under consideration. What we are seeing out there is demoralizing.

The truth of it is that the players could probably manage themselves better than Slot can.

Demoralising and embarrassing. Unfortunately, there’s more of this pain to come before the season’s finished. PSG, City in the FA Cup, Everton and Utd at Old Trafford. Oh joy!

I know we were terrible, but if that’s onside, I’ll eat my hat. Even Welbeck thought he was off.

Wednesday night was a one off as expected. Everyone’s trying but it’s broken and there’s not much point in analysing the individuals when the collective is dysfunctional.

Glad there’s a break. It’s actually hard to believe there’s still three things to play for in April (and potentially May). This feels like a season to forget and down tools now.

I’m not sure about this, cos it looks like they’ve been doing their own thing for months now…

The first game I was able to watch in the past two months. I was excited to finally sit down and watch a game. That excited lasted about ten minutes.

Milner had more fight and energy than our boys and hes forty years old.

I mean it’s tough enough to face those foul merchants away individually but facing them both at the same time with us in this dire form…

I’m upstairs and can hear MOTD on tv downstairs, it’s just struck me we have scored several goals this season that I will more than likely never see because I haven’t got the stomach to watch this fucking clownshow in the highlights.

Glass half full, there’s probably a whole lot we’ve conceded that you haven’t had to suffer too

Steaming pile of garbage, that.

Our press is so weak it could be used for an ED advert. They just pass right around it, like everyone else has all year. Poorly executed, don’t know why they bother in the attacking zone.

Gakpo, what a waste

Lose Hugo, enter Jones? That was his best option, to replace our #1 goal scorer with a midfielder?..

What the fuck
