Frustrating day, and the mathematical analysis and Brexit throw away line comes out… hopefully we don’t start killing each other after a shitty draw!
Klopp is right about the schedule. The early Sat slot needs to be for non European playing teams, in future contracts, since common sense in a pandemic hit season is hard to come by.
The one thing I’m slightly questioning is Klopp talking about Wilder. He is clearly in his head as we weren’t even playing them today. I want our manager to fight our corner, so on the one hand I didn’t mind it. But on the other hand, Wilder is not a rival and we shouldn’t get involved, as you can look small getting into those sort of spats.
The good point Klopp did make, about the five subs, is that it would be to save the players, not to enact massive tactical changes.
Anyway, point still stands… give them nothing Jurgen. You are box office and they need you. Send Lijnders out for a bit.
frustrating to say the least
injuries are part of the game, but the number of injuries we have at the moment is getting ridiculous
to add salt to the wounds are the stupid and inconsistent decisions made by the so called referees on the pitch and the idiots watching in Stockley Park
If you think closely about it even that is a wrong application of rule making; the goal line actually ends at the post, and then continues either side as the bye line. What possible prejudice could there be in being more close to the bye line than defender? You still have to also get across to actualise the prejudice.
The mischief that the rule seeks to address is over-protected, basically so they can enforce it easier. If they want to get this technical with CAD based VAR applications to offside, then we are entitled to get this technical about the law making.
If there is sense in the idea that you get an advantage over a defender by receiving the ball more closer to the ‘goal line’ there is no advantage in being closer to the bye line. So the proper instrument of measure is an arc projected from in between the posts to the point of the last defender. Its actually about triangles (Scalene to be precise), not lines, and if the attacker is outside the defender, as in closer to the touchline, his line to the goal is actually a greater distance.
At school I only thought my compass was useful for stabbing my neighbours leg, but seemingly not.
If that talk goes on, the players will start feeling sorry for themselves and take it as an excuse to not perform at 100%, and that’s usually the point when everything goes down the drain.
There are many ways to create a siege mentality. I’m not sure Klopp allows a culture of excuses. Maybe there’s always a first time, but he’s the world’s best for a reason.
