A point at a tough away game. Seems a decent result given we weren’t really at the races.
Defensive sloppiness was really frustrating.
Intersted to hear what the ex-refs have to say about Gross not being carded for dragging Szobozo down…DOGSO all day.
Mitoma as so fucking good too.
We’ve got quite a few of our tougher fixtures out the way early in the season.
Top 4 and cups for us sadly.
Poor finishing today and still a lag from last week. Oh and VAR can fuck off for checking that pen as it was stonewall.
Just got home, off to hint for highlights. Work etc….
The Grav miss into the bar would have finished Brighton. Voted Ali for the fabulous save.
Somehow , even after losing their best two players , these fuckers manage to make us look bog average every time we play them. We were lucky to get a point in the end.
Mitoma and March…do like to fall down alot…
They’re a good team. Play good football and some quality players. Villa result was an anomaly
Really poor that, thought we got that type of performance out of the way at Chelsea.
Midfield balance was off today, Curtis Jones an obvious miss. Mac Allister is not the player to cover that amount of space. Better in the second half with the adjustments, until…
Konate and Gomez. Those subs made us immediately and obviously worse, the pair of them were terrible. Combine that with Roberton’s horrorshow and we looked like we could have conceded 4 or 5. VVD and Ali at fault for their first but did well enough after that.
One of Diaz’ worst games for us, did nothing. Nunez did well with the lack of service, held it up nicely and got an assist. Salah clinical when the time came.
Thought we were set up poorly from the start, happens too much, we often need to change shape mid way through a game.
MacAllister too casual for the opening goal. Yes, VVD could’ve made it easier, but if you are a Liverpool player in the holding position, you need to do ten times better than Alexis in that situation and be comfortable in receiving balls under pressure. Very poor and slow in our play out from the back in the first half.
Salah with the equalizer (good by Harvey to leave it for him) and then a pen (if that was us, the player would’ve been sent off as well – no attempt at playing the ball, and was going to be a shot directly on goal). Salah put us 2-1 up going into half time.
Gravenberch on at the start of the second half, meant Szobozlai could go to his favoured right side and then he started to influence the game more.
Brighton played well, and Klopp tried to shore up the defence first with Konate coming on, then planned for Gomez, but we conceded before he could come on. Poor defending by Andy, and Dunk hardly knew about it and the ball sort of hit him into the goal.
On another day. Gravenberch would’ve put us 3-1 up and match over.
Gomez so slow. Robbo had a rare poor game. No surprise he didn’t even make it onto @Mascot’s MOTM poll!
We still have problems in midfield Mac Allister as our 6 and Elliott … come on nah we have no claims on the first 2 spots with this defence and midfield, T4, perhaps if we are lucky …
Thought Virg was at fault for that. Mac had 3 players round him
Given the amount of kneejerking in the matchday thread, I think I’m going to give this thread a miss.
Gutted. Draws are worst. Should have won.
Alexis was on the back foot, waiting for the ball to come to him passively, not aware of his surroundings. That’s sacrilege in that position, regardless of the merits of the ball given to him.
