Ok so take the youngster off. I get that. Are we now saying Thiago and keita etc cannot play 1 game in 13 days??
And from then on ā¦the shit hit the fan.
Jurgen Klopp:
āNothing will happen in this transfer window, not at all.ā [@beINSPORTS_EN
Finish 8th??
I know the usual suspects will jump on Gomez but both him and Konate were very good today, We were dominating until Fabinho came on and then they took control, I donāt like criticising our players but Fabinho is done here, some not happy being linked with Berge but I would have him all day long instead of Fabinho.
Keita is Keita. Enough said.
Thiago is having to do a high press on the oppostion defenders, make the tackles in midfield, do the interceptions, track back, and run back when we lose possession, and also still be the one to take the ball off the defence.
Gakpo is trying, but he makes a run to trigger the press, then stands off a yard or two from the player, which then allows the said player to bypass Gakpo easily to pass a simple ball straight to the player that Gakpo was originally blocking the pass to.
To me, it seems that Klopp knows Bobby is out for long, so is really trying to get Gakpo to play that way. Webster went off at HT, DUnk had a yellow for a take one for the team challenge, and so Darwin would make more sense to me there.
You have to look at the full context. You cannot take any game in isolation. SHould a pro be able to play 90 minutes? Sure, but the game doesnt exist in isolation of everything that has come before, and a week break prior doesnt negate everything. For Keita, you are keenly aware of his history. Is an FA cup game worth pushing him while heās rebuilding his match fitness?
That was a fantastic move by Mitoma, a lot of defenders would have done exactly what Gomez did. His clearance straight to Ferguson some minutes earlier was far worse.
They can but they are tired and the chances of them picking up an injury get exponentially higher. Klopp isnāt blind, heās making these subs out of necessity not out of want.
This season is the worst since the days of Hodgson. The only difference then was the almost universal condemnation of choosing Roy to manage our club.
How it felt at the time was that our owners didnāt have a clue about football and more importantly Liverpool Football Club. Now that these same owners are potentially departing it feels the same wayā¦with a twist. Now they couldnāt give a fuck what happens on the pitchā¦itās already someone elseās problemā¦
Confidence is what is required, I can imagine that putting it up for sale when they did has badly affected and distracted everyone at the club. We have lost some excellent players in the likes of Sadio Mane and picked up some average ones. We have made no improvements just regressed. Our success in the past bordered on outrageous talent winning games that we had no right to win. It was built on cohesion and understanding. We were at times fucking sublimeā¦
Now we are disjointed and reliant on individual talent that doesnāt quite gelā¦
Once this sale goes through Juergen needs to start again and approach this like he did when he first arrivedā¦ Heavy metal footy followed by key players additions and raised expectation from the club, staff, players and the fansā¦
Just a brief visit because I want to point out that Klopp messed with the team when we were on top. Trent was doing ok and at least he provided some attacking threat down the right. There was also no need to hook Keita. If anyone needed benching, it was Salah, heās bloody awful at the moment. Bye bye.
Seriously
I have a funny feeling thatā¦JKā¦is going to say Iāve had enoughā¦
We arenāt been linked though, someone asked the manager had their been interest and the manager said yes.
Anyhow see above post.
This time, this team needs a massive surgery not just on the playing staff, but on the coaching, scouting and football management side.
I hope Klopp is not doing a Benitez on FSG as it could end up with them sacking Klopp as FSG have the tendency to be very tone-deaf. After the ESL saga and the Furlough saga, I will not be holding my breath on FSGās next move to protect their investment.
As for the playing staff, Gomez had a real shocker on their last goal. He wasnāt doing Zonal Marking or Man Marking at all. And his last ditch tackle was turning his back totally on the ball. I thought I will only see that in my local football league. Usually, when I see VVD do his last ditch tackle, he always has an eye on the ball and I never saw him turning totally away from the ball.
As for Fabinho, we have Bajectic but he aināt reaching the physicality needed for a PL DM yet and itās not fair to give him so much pressure. As for Hendo, his hoofball is an absolute comedy and he cannot even press as much now. These two needs to be ruthlessly replaced as in sold if possible.
Curtis Jones? If Thiago was bad today, Curtis wasnāt even noticed coming off the bench today if the camera didnāt pan to the bench.
As for Naby Keita, if he signs an extension with a contract that is skewed towards appearances fees ,good. If not, we have to say goodbye to him.
As for the rest of the under-utillised midfielders,
And we just heard that LFC is not reinforcing in this window. If he has no money, call it out. If the scouts couldnāt produce a list of acceptable players, call it out. If the coaches are not up to scratch or are dispensing useless advice, call it out.
If not, he will end up falling on his own sword with a gleeful FSG finding a perfect scapegoat.
I really hope not.
I was running a 10k this morning so couldnāt do anything but listen online. Iām just going to assume we can blame Fabinho coming on and leave it at that
To be honest it felt like that but we were starting to get a bit ropey from 70 minutes on.
We did some pinball passing and seemed to lose it after that. Generally it was probably our least worst performance bar perhaps Wolves since Villa but then thatās not really a selection of quality.
Trent has slight injury and Naby needs his minutes managed bringing on Fabinho yes.
Another 90 minutes of dis-jointed nonsense. Loose in possession, no cutting edge, no conviction in the final third and getting done again on an overload at the back post.
All in keeping with whatās been going on all season. The sad thing for me personally is I couldnāt really care less right now whereas in the past Iād be fuming for days after any defeat.
Thought Bajcetic, Konate and Keita were pick of the bunch. Gakpo had one decent run where he ended up being fouled but apart from that I just donāt see anything to make me think he can make a difference.
Fabinho was shocking again, his expression and actions after his foul screamed āplease send me off and put us all out of our misery for 3 gamesā.
Playing Robbo and Trent in more withdrawn roles leaves us with virtually no creativity.
Just canāt fucking wait for this season to finish.
On TAW he said he wanted to rebuild as we are in a transitional period and thats why he extended.
Trouble is we have wrong owners for that.
Fsg clearly donāt mind finishing 7th or 8th.
His back room team have all but gone, getting no help from FSGā¦the team dont have any confidence, there is no continuity from top to bottomā¦
