I just had a quick look at the odds.

We are 9/1 while Madrid are 12s. How ?!

You’d thought they’d never end…but they have…and we go again…we need a ‘heighway’ type guy who ran to the byline and worried the opponents…or anyone to run at em n thru em…

Madrid must be seriously rubbing their hands. Wolves too probably.

How so?

I don’t understand the negativity. We played better for a larger percentage of a game than we have done pretty much at anytime this season. We were far less open/exposed and controlled the game - by and large. We looked the more likely to score (though not through seemingly Salah…) and their goal was against the run of play… TAA was far more disciplined and midfield was on the same page as each other.

Yes we lost but it is not the league and I’d much rather we concentrate on that. We are stretched thin enough as it is and with the added pressure of the CL on the horizon, we need to have more of these performances than somehow scraping through and hoping for the best the next time out!

It’s a genetic disposition……

I know just the guy. He is called Mitoma…

It’s these young fans who confuse reality with football manager.:woozy_face:

We judging a player after one game.

I wasn’t even aware he existed before today.

I think it’s because we seem to be a shadow ourselves…and we’re so used to seeing us boss games, win games, walk all over teams and run the game…wherever we watch the game…we all must play 95mins, and we all can see where the ball should be going and who to…and when it doesn’t…and ends up like today…it hurts…really really hurts…

He ran TAA ragged in the 3-0…

Thankfully I couldn’t watch that.

But we are judging a player off a handful of games against us, a team who are in a rut.

I’d like to see a season, the entire emphasis of some is to buy what Brighton have and it’s a bit tiresome because if football was that simple then everyone who was good on FM would have a go.

I don’t think we have been “that” team for a while now so I don’t understand the entitlement. We are going through (another) injury crisis and a rebuild… we are some way off bossing and walking over teams…

I agree and it was partly a tongue in cheek reply and that is exactly how we ended up with Minamino on the basis of a couple of half decent performances against us. I never understood that as I didn’t particularly recall him playing in those games…

I think the negativity comes from knowing what we can do…and when we don’t see it happen it’s exacerbating, I know we have injuries…but the fight seems to have gone.

And why would you want them to be fans?
Would you want your goalkeeper to be a striker?

Everybody has a role. Business people for business decisions. Fans for support…

We know nothing about how much they are looking for. We know what they think the club is valued at and investment will be based on that valuation, but we dont know what sort of deal they’d be interested in.

For me the reason for negativity is that this is as good as we’ve looked since the season resumed and we were still quite deservedly, IMO, beaten. And done so by a side who are praiseworthy, but who wont be near the CL spots at the end of the season. This was an improvement and that is what makes the reality set in - the ceiling for what we can achieve this season is almost certainly lower than those living on hope of us turning things around are saying.

That is not a remotely fair assessment. We were encouraged to push through a deal with a player we had been paying attention to because our scouting analysis was bolstered by the recommendation of the our own players who commented how difficult a time he gave them in both games.
