I really don’t think effort is the issue.

We lost 9 points in a week. :see_no_evil_monkey:

The Konate sub with Grav dropping back was fine as we were pushing for the goal, which we got in the 63rd minute.

The basketball nature of the game in the final 10 minutes would’ve been better served by having Gomez on rather than Endo.

The diving by Chelsea was ridiculous though.

Personally think Mama played well, as did the two starting fbs and Dom(Taylor doing his job and booking garnacho for constant diving would’ve seen Bradley safe). Everyone else had moments but were ultimately frustrating.

Wirtz really deserved the most beautiful assist of the season, shame Salah couldn’t finish it

Slot has turned into the utd manager, he looks pretty clueless on the sidelines recently, stood there watching chelsea attack us time and time again until they won the game and a centre back sitting on the bench and two minds playing in defence. I’m glad of the break next week and Utd will fancy their chances the following one.

Too many were brought in one go.
Bar Ekitike none of the players have shown anything special.
Watching a £116m player in wirtz constantly give the ball away, trip over it, leave it behind is so frustrating.
Thats nothing to do with getting used to the league.
Also Isak is so off it. So silly to strike all summer. We might not see the real him until next season at this rate.

The solution to keeping it late to win games was NOT keeping it late to lose those. :expressionless_face:

Still baffled with the Dom and Grav experiment to move them in between game. Jones and Wirtz have actually been our better performers but MacAllister keeps getting games and isn’t subbed till the very end. Our defense was weak but we can’t even score now.

And we aren’t entertaining to watch as well. Slow and boring passing sideways with no idea what to do with the ball. Players look scared given the lack of confidence in themselves and how easy we get carved open.

slot needs to figure this out quickly

yup..No chance we are winning this. This team needs time and some new faces to start this style working and dominating the league and Europe. We need to buy Wharton and Guehi - Semenyo will be a luxury.

Why take kerkez off he was ok.

I feel like we praised the work rate and defensive contributions of our forwards for years, but there’s been little acknowledgement of the fact we’ve lost all of that and replaced them with technically good but lazier players.

Gakpo, Salah and Isak barely offer anything. Ekitike does a bit. Diaz, Jota and even Nunez never stopped running, Firmino and Mane were obviously incredibly good at this stuff.

Couple that with a midfield who can’t sit in front of the defence and we’re far too easy to play through. We haven’t got enough ball winners in this team.

Wirtz looked ok for 20 minutes thats it. Once he gets near box he looks a nervous wreck. Apparently he was dispossessed or misplaced a pass 6 times.

Salah needs a spell on the bench. He has been terrible. But slot will continue to play him.

I wonder who’s going to have a field day having bookmarked all you posts from previous seasons to bring this and that player, “because our players are shit”. Now we brought too many in one go…
Figures.

I can understand the Grav one Konate can’t bring ball out of defence.

Dom is in the same situation when haven’t replaced what Trent brought to the team.

He was very good defensively, sloppy on the final ball. Slot took a gamble on Robbo as the better passer to make a difference. I understand the gamble, though not the sub I would have prioritised I get why Slot did it

yeah, but moving our two best midfielders to defence, though, was not very smart

Looked most dangerous front man.

It was done to help attacking its not about the defending.
