See my post above.
I don’t care to argue… I heard it all season on here and I’m not sure any of them did themselves much favours bar Endo.

I didn’t think Salah did at all well either. Should ‘we’ drop him?
6 changes is a lot and explains a disjointed performance.
Endo did well and Jones was more than ok though neither managed to accelerate the game when it was needed.
After winning the league last week everything after that is gravy. As you said Slot has just proved that we actually need reinforcements for the start of next season.
Szoboszlai has been good for most of the season, Jota has been anonymous in most games since returning from injury and looks like a 35 year old.
I agree, but we can’t really afford to let JQ go even if we do get a new CB.
For me, nothing makes you realise Dom’s value like watching Elliot try and play his position from the start.
Never nice to lose but today was a bit like watching us in preseason and the result didn’t matter. Just beat arsenal next week and make them settle for 3rd place.
Ok. Call me out. Say I hate locals blah blah but Curtis is not elite. Showed again today. Need class around him. Decent squad player nothing more. Was not the only one today but whenever you want him to stand up and own it he never ever does.
Fine call me out. I am not a hater just frustrated.
A d3 ent player but career unfulfilled at Liverpool.
Don’t think anyone is going to pull you up for holding that position. Jones is 24 now and is a capable squad player but not good enough to be a regular starter in the best team in the country.
He’s now got to decide if he wants to stay as a back-up player or move elsewhere for more first-team opportunities, subject to the club receiving an offer which meets their valuation of him.
He frustrates me so much. All the talent just cannot take a game by the scruff of the neck. Players with less skill did. Henderson for example.
Not easy to judge. In front regular team and we arrived with a new midfield that never started a game before or maybe in a cup? I feel for the guys because it looks like a trap.
The whole change in midfield created the mess in the first 20 minutes and not starting Nunez to put some pressure on the defense from beginning. We do not have a replacement for McAllister that is clear.
But Arne took the opportunity to play some players that’s the good point.
Quite apposite for Star Wars Day.
We have 3, 4 at a push, elite players at the club and all 3 are in their 30s. Every other player could be improved upon.
The same thing applies to every club in the world.
What’s your point?
He doesn’t have one just like making nefarious posts.
No problem having a couple players like this in a successful squad. United made a habit of it. Butt, Brown, P. Neville, O’Shea, Fletcher, Evans. Not directly comparing Jones with any of them in particular but none of them world beaters and yet all were decent squad players for title winning teams.
Not every local lad from the academy can be Fowler, Gerrard or Trent but if we can produce a player like Jones every few years, and Quansah looks to be the next, then it bolsters the squad and helps to raise some funds as and when the time comes. And that’s absolutely fine.
David May.
