Post Match: (EPL Liverpool v Crystal Palace 23/5/21 4.00pm)

On a personal note for me at least, battling near death experiences, and watching my first game this season against west brom with the Alisson winner. What a roller coaster year.

And yes, Genius will be back with the memes next season.

I didn’t see Keita on camera today, so I presume he wasn’t there. Probably sulking somewhere.

Cheers Maria!
I missed everyone here!

This is massive ,if someone had said a month ago we’d finish 3rd you’d want to know what they were on.
But we are Liverpool!
Great run to the end of the season, really finished in style.
A double from Mane to finish ,couldn’t be happier for the lad…
Following Allison’s,then Phillips first goals for us really finished the session nicely.
Bobby found his shooting boots,Thiago showed why we bought him.Cuminating with today.
Great end to an awful season.
Thiago MOTM,been great lately.

My opinion is that considering the hurricane of shit we’ve had to deal with this season, third place is a colossal result. I don’t City would have finished third with 69 points had they had the injuries we’d had.

Just checked and I think City’s equivalent of Nat Phillips and Rhys Williams are Callum Doyle and Shea Charles. Do we think Pep could even be arsed if he’d had to play them?

For this team to finish the season 10 unbeaten with 26 from 30 points, is a credit to the lads and a credit to Klopp and his staff.

Let’s put this season to bed and go again, and with a fair wind, we’ll get 95 points and number 20.

He was there I purposely looked for him.

Crazy how unappreciated he his. He gets routinely slagged of by fans, including here, but the simple fact is that if he wasn’t doing exactly what Klopp wants him to do, he wouldn’t start him week in, week out.

We will really miss him.

Ok, I’ll let him off this time.

1 defeat in 16 between Sept and Dec…then 7 defeats in 10 games between 1st Jan and 7th March…Finishing the season undefeated in 9 games…what an absolute bizzare season for us.

That period where the 3 first choice CBs were out and Klopp had to figure out what to do at the back fucked us badly. Finished strong though and feeling optimistic for next season

Psychologically that is huge for us. It shows we have the resilience to deal with an injury crisis of epic proportions and still outperform most of the league. It shows when our veneer of invincibility went and we had that horrid horrid run, we could pull ourselves out of it.

We now start next season not only with Champions League football but also a ten game unbeaten run behind us. A run in which we took 26 points from the last 30 available to us including smashing United at their place and seeing off a slew of teams that are exactly the types we’ve inexplicably dropped points to all season. We start with Mane looking like Mane again, Salah with the bit between his teeth having just missed out on another golden boot and the return of some huge players for us.

Huge credit to everyone getting through this season. With no fans, horrific injuries, a horror run in the middle of the season, the ridiculousness of VAR and some truly awful personal circumstances for Klopp and Alisson, we came through the storm and there’s a golden sky waiting for us all in August.

not to mention those 4 points we dropped, to heart-breaking last-minute equalizers. Those would have broken any team. Not ours.
