On the balance of play I’d say a draw was reflective of the game. We controlled possession but created very little in the way of chances. They lumped the ball long but threatened a bit more with what came from that approach.
If we’d had held out I’d have felt like we’d done well to get all three but also feel both their goals had contentious aspects to them.
A lot of teams in the Prem would have done somethings like this:
feign to do a short goal kick, but then tell the players to run upfield. Emiliano Martínez would of course take this tot he extreme.
FWIW Alison actually took longer to release the ball that he does. But he didn’t wait for the ref to give him a signal to get a move on. He still kept it within the allocated time.
He did rip into him and got a red card for his troubles everytme he refs us he screws us over and you know when they appoint Oliver on the pitch and cavanagh in var we will get nothing.
@Mascot you had a nibble at @Notasuperfan earlier for his nonsense, but this same tired shite from this one is getting old at this point. Can we have a word?
Even with 2 of their players going down injured in injury time, the ref should have blown up a minute before the goal was scored. God knows why but he gave too much time at the end.
Maybe these are the things refs should be made to account for.
Everton is irrelevant, let’s take the point and move on, infuriating as it may be, the way it happened. They are not worth wasting more time to think about it. We have Wolves to beat now.
Watching Keown and Owen, saying there was a lot of contact where it was a case of is it or isn’t a foul, no mention of the 3 fouls against us with no contact, if they are watching the game surely they see the same as us.
Ultimately we rode our luck a bit second half up to when we scored. We then took control at that point until the last couple minutes when we got ragged.
