Post Match: Everton v Liverpool (EPL 17/10/2020 12.30pm)

Still pissed off,

I can take defeats and draws, its part of the game, you cant win all the time

but to be robbed like we were today, is fucking…

I dont know, I just feel the rage build up in me.

No way we deserved to drop 2 points today, as we played really well.

But the officials totally fucked up,

Pickford getting away with that challenge, set the tone for the game,
Everton thought they could what they want when they want,

as for the offside decision for the goal at the end, that was shocking,

I hope at the end of the season these 2 dropped points due to idiotic officials have no bearing on our final place in the league,

fingers crossed VVD and Thiago arent out for too long.

I was more than happy with that performance. We were really good. The passing was slick and precise and we didn’t allow Everton any time on the ball at all. Much better than the shite served up against Villa. I’ve read a few comments about the defence but I thought we were much more secure in this game. We were at least 10 yards further back and Everton never got in behind us once. They had an obvious superiority in the air once VVD went off and used it to full advantage. We have to accept that without Alisson and VVD we are going to concede goals and we are just going to have to take more of the chances we get.

It would have been fitting if Henderson had scored the winner because he was fantastic today. The whole midfield was good. Thiago started slowly but his passing in the second half was mesmeric. Fabinho snapping into tackles. All is well again.

I can’t be arsed going over the decisions. The offside rule was changed (again) and both Mane for the goal and Virgil for the penalty would have been onside under last season’s rule. I think football is disappearing up its own arsehole with all these rule changes. They do nothing to add to the entertainment value. It doesn’t make the game any fairer. It just pisses people off and sucks all the joy out of watching football.

Unfortunately, they will scrutinise the frames and choose the one frame where things go in their favour (they’ll choose the latest frame they can from the pass). They’ll also choose the lowest plausable point for the armpit

As for the Prickford on VvD, they’ll offer a little slap on their wrist, and dump the VAR ref for one game, and then continue as before. Same old, same old.

Nah- just means that we’ll win by ten points instead of twelve.

Offside is offside, sure.

Also, lbw is lbw, but cricket sure doesn’t seem to have the fucking headfucks football does.

Have seen a good point made elsewhere…is the same level of microscopic scrutiny applied to making sure the lines are drawn on the ‘offside’ player after the ball is played??

Not sure I have ever seen it come up, tbh.

If they’re gonna rely on the width of the fuzz on a bee’s anus, surely they need to be just as certain the ball has left Thiago’s boot??

Apparently we have complained to the PL about the Pickford challenge and the Mane offside.

Straw poll…

Which is more galling??

I’m going with the challenge.

Do these complaints ever accomplish anything?

Don’t mean that negatively. Asking if they really serve any purpose.

Barca fans asking me what happened

Laying down a marker for the future. We want to know why Pickford wasn’t sent off and what part of Mane’s body was deemed offside, together with which frame was chosen and why. Puts a bit more pressure on the officials next time a similar decision is reviewed. Won’t change the outcome in this game but might change the outcome in another. Worth a try.

This shouldn’t be forgotten amongst Pickford and Mane offside incidents. They had clear intentions to hurt our players throughout the game.

Thank you.

They can’t retroactively charge Pickford for violent conduct, right?

I don’t know what the bloody rules are any more.

The blonde Richarlison has his eyes shut tight. You don’t close your eyes if you’re not about to hit an object.

Its a tough one that depends what bullshit they spin on why he wasn’t sent off in the first place.

I’m amazed David Cunt, apologies, I mean Coote, didn’t review the sending off and and tell Oliver to send Thiago off for feigning injury.

Out of words for the referee team. Daylight robbery. The team played relatively well after the no show against Villa.

Dreadfull challenge…surely some action needs taking, i’d forgo those 2 points dropped for T-rex arms to get a ban, that was plain dangerous.
