Why did you turn off at halftime, would you be one of those supporters that if you were at the ground you would walk out if we were losing?
I am a little lost when I hear people say they turned off during a game, if there is a good reason fair enough, but even if I am only watching on the TV I still watch until the end no matter the result.
I have to admit, I turned off 30 seconds before the final whistle. I didnāt want to see anymore of Everton fans frothing at the mouth in celebration.
You can be as lost as you like, makes no difference to me.
Iām tired and drained.
This season, Iām weary from seeing over ahievement turn into expectation turn into hope turn into desperation.
Half time last night just turned into acceptance of the end of a magical period.
Brighton win tonight and Spurs win on Sunday and Iām sucked right back into the hope category, and I just donāt have the heart for the ultimate pain it will bring.
We missed too many chances. Again.
They played really well, where has that been all season??
The 2 goals were slapstick defending.
Ref gave a few soft fouls, falling for their hitting the deck easily. To lay blame on him though for the result is wrong.
Klopp looks knackered and it appears the players are feeding off that.
This teams not ready, lacks leadership imo.
Still it is a construction year, lots of recent additions, who in general are very good players, who need time to gel and find the mongrel side to take them up and beyond. Just too early for them.
Ok itās not over yet however what we saw was some fragrant weaknesses against one of are greatest rivals. Even so thereās talent in there and if it clicks with the will to drive on higher it will come. Quite surprising how well we did this yearall considering. Hereās to believeing!
I think I posted in the match thread that there were a couple of occasions that Everton players dived to the floor without contact because our players had pulled out of a challenge.
Given that they get most of their chances from set pieces it isnāt a bad tactic (for them). For us, it means that pressing the opposition isnāt going to work. It was possibly less noticeable in the second half. I donāt know if words were had at half time.
I think you have a combination of players coming back from injury who are not fully up to speed and those players who have been filling in for them who are fundamentally exhausted. Last night we desperately needed to swap forwards out but then only ones on the bench were the likes of Danns who had played in the U19s on Monday because Klopp didnāt think they were required. I think he was only there as a break-glass option in case one of the front three actually got injured.
I donāt think Mo is anywhere near fit at the moment. The only major injury I can recall him having was when his arm was ripped out of its socket, and it took him months to get back up to speed. At the time I remember people saying that he was finished but it was just a case of getting fully fit again. Obviously, now he is that much older.
Danns had played for the U19s on Monday so he was only on the bench as a break.glass option in case someone was injured. Klopp had expected Jota and Gakpo to be available before then.
The players have looked tired for a lot more time than Klopp has. It has happened in other seasons too, when there was no question about Kloppās own energy.
The loss had a lot to do with players being low on form and confidence but also with the lack of effort and commitment from the start. Thatās what made it worse. Van Dijk after the game pretty much said as much.
Everton made contact with the ball first on at least seven separate set pieces in our box before we did. Thatās a lack of fight, of effort, thatās a lack of determination and concentration. It wasnāt tiredness that made player after player fail to clear the ball for their first.
By the way, whatās the point of the huddle before the start? Unless they are discussing how theyāre going to fuck up in the game.
Some of you lot holding Klopp responsible and saying this is a good time for change need to log off for a day and take a beat.
The sheer hypocrisy is baffling . If Klopp had not resigned, everybody here would be arguing that thereās no one better available than Klopp to lead this team.
And, now suddenly, it is best time for regime change and the Alonsoās , the Amorimās and the Slotās are the ones people are salivating for.
Ffs , The wee man came out in the post match interview and apologized to the fans. Filled me with tears watching that !!
And, people who are dying to sell Salah, first find a replacement who will bang 20 goals in a season playing as a RW forward for 5-6 years consistently especially with our budget. Very easy to lose world class playersā¦this could be a difference of making top 4 next season or not. The man is not a robot, he has been thrusted into a title challenge right after a lengthy injury. He even had a setback from the injury as well after the Brentford game. Clearly still not perfectly fit or carrying a niggling thing, may be.
Lastly, everyday, I appreciate even more what Jurgen has done for this club. Enjoy while it last, as this love affair of our beloved manager turns into long distance relationship in 4 games.
In an ideal world Jurgen stays and the players get their mojo back but all good things come to an end.
Weāve had a great 9 years under Jurgen and most of these players but the time has come for a new era with new idea and tactics etc.
Such a shame the season has fizzled out in the last month but no one had us down as challengers in the summer so we have overachieved in a way.
Funny how things work out because we had our injury crisis a Feb we looked great with the youngsters so Im a bit confused why they havent been used again while a few of the seniors have struggled with form.
Last night we shouldve thrown on Danns - I think Nunez touched the ball 5 times in the 2nd half (so ive heard) so could this lad who recently scored a Hat Trick at Old Trafford do any worse?
I really found the subs baffling last night.
