You’re one of those that thought Klopp’s “untimely announcement” cost us the league despite the announcement coming in Jan and the Palace loss coming in mid April.
Give over.
We ran out of steam, running out of steam comes from overplaying players. We have one of the smallest squads in the league.
I find it strange to say this given we hadn’t struck the target until like the 60th minute, but their keeper kept them in it.
Just to break from the inevitable Jota love which this thread likely possesses (justified), I’m going to call out Macca who I enjoyed watching tonight. He was in everything, had quite a bit of the ball, and maybe?? avoided a yellow. I’m not happy with the frustrated hack of his on the edge of the box, but I liked everything else.
Thought Grav turned in a really solid defensive performance in the second half. That was my reason. Clearly his first half wasn’t great, but I’m not sure anyone stood out enough to make choosing The Grav appear absurd.
I guess I could have gone for Jota too for a moment of brilliance. But I am principled and only pick one player unlike my undisciplined peers on this forum.
We have a large squad, but it is fair to say that Slot is not using some of the fringe players as much as he might, which is leading us to speculate that a few changes will be made when he gets the chance.
Slightly concerning. But a lot of that has to do with the changes in the defense as well with Konate and then later Gomez being injured , Trent having a bad game…3 of those 9 goals came in against Spurs , which you could say was the defense switching off.
I don’t think there were any of those goals being conceded that would have been saved by any other keeper.
