Those AI commentaries (auto dubs) are really awful…Have to switch over to original audio.

Yeah, two assists from Flo Wirtz.

5 goals, 3 points away, 2 Wirtz assists. Colour me happy.

Only problem is Mo still playing with a selfish head up his arse. Needs to ride the pine at least until Xmas or until he decides to be part of the team again. No excuses for not putting it on a plate for Wirtz at the end.

No real problem with Mo being selfish at 5-1 up. He’s looking for a morale boost as much as anyone. Would be fuming with him not passing if we’d been at 1-1 though.

Also not a good look him heading straight down the tunnel. Can understand him being disappointed but we’ve been playing shite, he’s been shite and we’ve just put in probably our best performance all season. As a senior player he should be putting his personal disappointment to one side and showing unity with the team.

Dom superb. Jones neat and tidy. Wirtz pulling strings. And Ekitike with another goal. Aside from the injuries and old stroppy bollocks at the end that was as enjoyable as it’s been all season.

Some much welcome positive signs, but also the same weaknesses for their goal. The performance was obviously much better, but it was against a team with huge problems that gave up almost immediately the game went sideways.

Szoboszlai was excellent, Ekitike is proving that he’s worth every penny and Robertson’s legs may be going, but the class is still there. Very nice to see Wirtz come up with two assists as well.

All in all, a good game after a month but the real test is going to be Brentford.

When you press high sometimes it only takes a single pass to break the trap and they are away with too many defenders now caught the wrong side of the ball. What was remarkable about the move that lead to their goal was they played that splitting pass about 6 different times. We just kept getting ti wrong over and over again. They were playing less like they were interested in scoring and more like an experienced group in a training sessions exposing a new group trying to get up to speed with the pressing approach. Every time Eintract split us in my head I could hear my old coach yelling “now recover…ok now you’re set now go again…RECOVER”

One of the wishes before the game was to hold off not shipping the first goal and keep a clean sheet for at least 30 minutes, despite the frustration of watching us concede the first goal for the 5th time early in the game. I hope we stay tight at the back and score early ourselves against Brentford. Happy with the win in the end and I hope we won’t look back from now on and start putting pressure on our direct rivals. In Europe all we need is to win 3 more games and draw one to make the top 8.

Some credit to Slot for mixing things up a bit. That said the 1st half hour was more of the same - slow, ponderous build-up with no real cutting edge and concede a goal where the opposition have waltzed through us unchallenged.
That equaliser was a thing of beauty. Robertson’s pass was sublime and Ekitike’s burst of pace to cut across the last defender was fantastic.
After that we bossed it completely and should have scored more but 5 will have to do. A note of caution though, Frankfurt are as poor a team as we will face all season and Brentford away on Saturday will be a polar opposite.
Szoboslai MOTM and needs to be kept in midfield. The RB role is up for grabs between Bradley, Frimpong and Joe Gomez if those 2 don’t cut it.
Wirtz not far behind Dom, his best match in a red shirt but it probably goes to highlight the step-up needed to thrive in the PL as opposed to the Bundesliga.
Haven’t seen the Salah strop so wont comment on it other than to say his self-awareness regarding his form over the last 6 months must be lacking.

Three points, keeps us in the running in the CL and not slipping too far back. That was important. Then the confidence boost of a good away win with five goals scored. Lovely.

There were some good things to build on and hopefully Slot keeps moving forward. Dom and Jones looked great. That was Wirtz’s best game so far and he looked like he was enjoying himself. Ekitike did well, and there’s more to come from Isak, but I was very pleased to see Slot start Ekitike, Isak and Wirtz in behind, as that’s the future.

We all know it was a fairly easy test and most Prem games are harder than that, but this was a lovely win and hopefully we build on it.

Apparently, there was a false report. Contrary to previous reports, Salah did briefly applaud the fans, but then was apparently the first to leave. Just to set the record straight.

Salah is a pro. He won’t meltdown. But he is proud, and he has a fantastic history here, so I fully expect it to get a bit prickly as the new thing emerges.

Wirtz seems relieved .

Edit

He says he’s never given an interview so soon after a game.

Seems Ibou was rest related at least that’s something.

Looks like Frimpong is another few weeks with a hamstring, fingers crossed on Isak I guess.

I’m not particularly enjoying this pile on on Salah.

In the past few weeks we’ve seen some rather, IMO, tactless and baseless blaming of our performances on Jota’s death. I didn’t buy that a single bit.

But it’s obvious Salah was affected, more obvious than anyone else. I’m not saying he should be bulletproof, but this is becoming a bit unnecessarily personal.

Excellent result and a good performance after the usual drab first 15, hopefully we can build on this now against the much sterner tests that lie ahead. I doubt we’ll face a side as bad defensively as them domestically this season.

Salah should square it but watching it back I thought the keeper was a bit fortunate to save it. Problem is it’s three games in a row he’s gone for glory himself instead of feeding a simple pass to a teammate, the frustration with him is understandable.
