Post Match: Fulham v Liverpool (EPL 13/12/20 4.30pm)

Make sure he gets his round in first.

VERY cheap date, if you know what I mean…

I noticed you seemed hungry and parched in your review. I’ll be there.

I wouldn’t expect @SBYM to show. He has history of not showing.

Keita has now 34 games in 29 months with 12 different injuries.

So only a few weeks out.

Yes, we have been largely getting away with it for the better part of two seasons now. But missing sitters like Henderson’s is not a luxury we can afford this time round.

As soon as Origi came on our mindset changed from trying to pass our way into shooting positions (which we did create a couple of chances) to lumping it into the box from the halfway line. That’s all well and good if you have an actual effective target man but Origi isn’t menacing enough and doesn’t intimate defenders despite being a man mountain. Wrong sub there for me.

Thought Jones, Alli and Fabinho were our best players. That run from Jones was beautiful, just needed a little more accuracy to get into the corner. He’s gonna be a star.

Minamino again I felt was disappointing, just seemed to run around without actually doing anything.

Credit to Fulham who had a good first half.

Another 1-1 game. Unfortunately also an forgettable outing. The directions and paces of the passes were poor, and our boys were a step or two behind. A lot of the credits have to be given to Fulham. A lot of us were thinking 3 points in the bag before the match, and at the end, it felt lucky that we actually got a point out of this fixture.

Although saying that we were fortunate to get a point out of the match, I was desperately hoping for Curtis Jones to score the goal from his spectacular run from our own half. If that has gone in, it would be on or almost on equal footing with Son’s goal that he ran 3/4 of the length of the pitch.

Joel Matip with a sore back and had to be sub’bed off, TAA still need match fitness and was taken off later. Apparently Tsimi will be our for an extended period of time. The loss of bench depth due to all the injuries is starting to affect our overall performances.

Sadio got my pick for MotM as he was a constant threat in the 2nd half on the left, too bad that nothing came out of his effort.

Shout out to Hendo to be able to drop back at CB position, while Curtis Jones solo run almost scoring a goal got my other nod.

Minamino runs and runs but with not much effect on the team, come to think of it our captain used to be accused of the same.

I thought Mini had a few good touches he also put a lot of work in off ball when Hendo was meant to be CB but was on edge of Fulham box.

He’s not really salable at the minute either. Who would take him on with his injury record? It’s not like he could even drop down a league on loan either. We have to persevere with him but we should never rely on him, or factor him into our playing style.

I disagree on Mane MOM put effort in but the composure isn’t there Mane of 3 months scores twice.

Shit game - check.
Boring game - check.
Subbed player throwing a hissy fit - check.
Fail to capitalize on rivals dropped points - check.
Drop points against relegation fodder - check.
Standard away performance - check.
Injury - check.
Injury to a defender - check, check.
Injury to a central defender - check, check, check.
Injury to injury prone player - check, check, check, check.
Keita injured again - check, check, check, check, check.

I’m going to check off now.

A little strange that Klopp didn’t trust bringing on the Ox, maybe he will get a chance in midweek.

Yeah Fulham deserved their goal, and probably the point too on balance.

You sound a bit like a hen, chuck check chuck check. :joy:

i think Ox was on bench just for his mental condition, it will be a hard period to him and hope that he will stay safe!

Hope that Thiago will come-back too:)

I feel if it had been the last 20 mins he may have done but I don’t think he wanted to remove Gini or Jones who was his only option in CM.

If we had Keita we probably would have created a bit more that second half, disappointing just hope we see some good news in the coming days on Matip, Keita and maybe even Milner.

I feel his confidence isn’t that high right now. He was trying to keep it simple, ensuring he doesn’t misplace any pass. Without a run of games, would be difficult to build that confidence up as well.

Today is 11 weeks since Thiago injured. 3 months without his services hurts. It’s a significant loss of depth.
