Bit of a nervy game in the first half, settled in the second half and played some good stuff.
Far from our best but got the job done.
We managed the game well in final 25mins.
Alisson had to be at his best.

More difficult than expected, against a Girona side that after a problematic start to the season, found more stability in recent times.
When you’re a top side, you’ll have games and wins like these.
Performance nothing special, but solid at both ends of the pitch (plus Gravenberch the only performer in midfield) and exactly a bit of quality to win it.
12th clean sheet in 22 games.
We have this habit of coming back to the CL scene in big style, it’s in our culture.
Hopefully we go far and there is no “Atletico” type of early exit.

Messaged a few of my Milan friends. The only team to manage a goal against us in the CL this season. Told them they should be dead proud of that. They were kinda ornery about it, though. Dunno what their fucking problem is.

I was dead worried at one point when Dias got stamped on and lost his boot, we cannot afford to lose him right now the same with Cody he got kicked a couple of times. Anyway another win and escaped with no injuries I think. This manager is making a reputation for himself even in Europe.
