I thought the Champions League games finished in October, for the winter…or are they still playing coz of this new type league thingy.
Let’s cross to our man on the spot.
Good evening, I’m here in Mo Salah’s wheelie bin, we haven’t managed to speak to him yet, but his wife just threw out tonight’s takeaway containers. Curry. I think it’s a lamb bhuna. Back to the studio.
Pussy
Racist!!
That’s Indian food! They’d be eating Egyptian food (whatever that is)
Ummm…pretty sure takeway curry is the national cuisine.
Maybe I was too subtle with the joke as I was the one being “racist” by assuming Egyptians only eat Egyptian food and “whatever that is”
Egyptian food is great loads of broad bean recipes.
Lovely win. We were pretty solid too, which was good to see. Interesting that Slot went with the diamond. We’ve been debating that formation for a little while. Whether or not we go that way more often than not remains to be seen, but at the least it should be a tool in the tool bag to consider.
Macca wasn’t great and neither was Isak. But enough of the others were good enough.
Wirtz and Bradley had a good impact when they came on. Szobo had a great game and his penalty reminded me of a Ruud Van Nisterooy penalty as he hit them just as hard, into that same spot all the time.
The Salah stuff will run its course one way or the other.
I was happy for the manager to get the win. He must be under enormous pressure after our run, and then all the Salah stuff blowing up.
Brighton up next. I haven’t got a clue how that will be handled with the Salah subplot. Will there be some sort of smoothing over between now and then? Or will things remain strained? Will Salah play? Will he even be in the squad? Will he give a farewell afterwards on the pitch, in such a way that it looks like goodbye for good, rather than goodbye for a few weeks?
So many questions.
But well done tonight Liverpool. Very good result.
A very good Europe away performance, helped by Inter not playing like a PL team.
Good to see us having a solid shape and opposing traffic not being waved through on our right flank. If we can beat Brighton with the type of performance that the team was putting in before February last season, i.e. score a couple of goals and keep a clean sheet, then there may be hope for Slot yet.
Not feeling as positive as many on here, to be honest. I thought that the performance was still very sterile. Obviously the result is excellent and important despite that. I didn’t feel that I saw much to build on moving forward tactically.
I hope to be proven wrong. ![]()
No goals conceded, great base to start from!
Agreed. Have been very disappointef with Alexis this season, but actually thought he did a bit better at the end. Hopefully if his fitness is back we can start to see him play too as he isn’t offering enough going forward and the contrast with Wirtz was stark.
4 games unbeaten

At the moment I think AS would bite your hand off for a 1-0 win. Great result. Some real belief coming in that last 15.
Fül (fava beans), Koshary (rice, lentils mixed) macaroni and Umm Ali (Ali’s mother), a bread type pudding! ![]()
Just up again. I had this weird dream that we won last night. Oh, we did!
I felt this was a very much improved team performance. We kept our concentration for the most part, and I thought Virg looked less stressed than he has been in recent games, which probably improved his performance.
I think we still have a chance of a top 8 finish. We just have to try and get something from the last two games. Unfortunately, it’s been the “easy” games that we have fouled up so far.
Are you sure about that? I’m certain that Dalglish had more if you count his Celtic appearances. In fact, there must be some Lisbon Lions players who have a few, as they were in the competition 9 years in a row, and reached the final twice.
They flashed it up when he was being interviewed, must check!
To the Bat Cave!!
Kenny has 68 EC/CL!!!
