The ref was a homer from the start the third Isak goal was not offside this is the third goal we get chalked off with an ultra forensic offside and it was open season to clatter into our players with impunity especially Wirz and Gakpo and a very dodgy kick on Virgil it could have injured him.him and VAR were like a tag team on bad decisions against Liverpool the only time we got free kicks was deep in our half. I hate having to complain about the ref but it is going to be even worse against big teams I do hope I am wrong.
Very good interview.
Agree, he was really good, Virgil. Seemed like he decided after he got fouled - which obviously Mr. ‘Good process’ overlooked - that he’d just keep all the little tractor boys in his pockets.
Was so impressed with Gakpo. After club briefing for months that they were willing to sell him, he’s shown brilliant character (at the risk of sounding like Brendan). Our best player this season. Never wanted him to leave.
Isak showed much more fight in 1st half and deadly finishing.
Feels much safer having Araujo at RB. Much scarier prospect for a winger compared to facing Frimpong.
Still a bit worried about Wirtz. Has all the talent in the world but finding it hard to impose himself in the PL
Alexis Mac Allister on what Andoni Iraola wants:
"To run a lot, that’s the first thing. But of course, there is a lot of tactics: try to be direct, try to generate chances, that’s what we want. Football is about scoring goals and defending well. In the last couple of games, we didn’t defend as well but hopefully today is a good day for us.
“We are not here to ask for patience because we are at Liverpool and we know we have to win. we want the fans to be behind us like they always do. It’s not about asking, it’s about showing on the pitch that we have to win. Hopefully today is the day.” (Sky Sports)
Credit to gakpo…2 assists, could’ve sulked but didnt.
Wirtz is talented…but we sell him next summer 100% to bayern
So happy for LFC and Iraola to get their first win of the season. I felt that Liverpool were comfortable throughout, our team defense was incredible, snuffing out anything that Ipswitch tried to put together. Barcola showed some things, when he came on, and I can’t wait to see these guys click. And Gakpo, take a bow my friend, you were immense. On to the CL.
The assist for the second goal..wow. The first is also very good, but the second, that’s some pass. Our guy channeling his inner Modric, just brilliant.
I have seen enough to determine Barcola will definitely be a starter and not just a squad player.
Wirtz still struggling, but not hiding which I like.
Gakpo has either saved us or provided another £15m to his fee.
Munoz is the guy for the right, as I accurately determined in my Iraola body language analysis.
15m??? At least an additional 30m GBP for a player who can play CF and LW, and currently top of the assist charts.
Gakpo is at least a 100m gbp player.
Seems Andoni has tapped into getting something slightly different from Gakpo, and I like it. Long may his form continue this season.
A win and two draws to start, not at all unhappy, think we re starting to see already where Iraola wants to go and I like it.
2 up inside 10 mins fhanks to the Gakpo, Isak apparent linking and it is early doors.
Araujo was solid on the right,Vvd will not be unhappy with that.
Munoz continues to impress, even at this early point feels the green shoots are there,we look like we could be a bit of a handful as the lads get to know each other better.
