What’s Jürgen doing there :joy: ?

I hope so. We are asking a lot of Konate to be cb and rb. I don’t see why Trent can’t play in the Hendo position right side of midfield. He did it today and looks a natural there. Put a solid rb in behind him and our right side looks class again.

I think the move to Trent into midfield while we have the ball, really adds another dimension to our game. With Trent in midfield, we actually overload the opposition midfield position and create a lot of passing opportunity with clever one-two passes and channel running. Trent’s vision and passing ability will break down a lot defense for us, so hopefully now the lower teams won’t be anymore trouble for us.
Another player I was very impress of was Curtis Jones. He caught my eye last match against Arsenal, and today he was top notch again. Very good work rate, good passing, and links up well with our front 3. If he can keep this up, we might not need to splash too much cash on multiple midfielders but instead on Jude.
Happy for Jota to finally find his scoring touch. He’s a streaky player so I totally expect him to light it up now with this renewed confidence.
The schedule doesn’t look too daunting for us, if we can put on a good run, we might just snatch 4th last matchday of the season again  .

I agree, I actually stood up and roared. There were literally about 5 players hunting down the ball :+1:t2:

What a strange team we are this season. First half hour couldn’t see where a goal was coming from. We looked like 10 strangers running all over the place with no clear plan. In the end we could have had 10.

his vision in the final third is next to none and he would be protected by the midfield to jus go forward at will

Hard to digest we’re the 4th highest scorers in the league and have strangely conceded less than 4 of the teams above us…yet we sit 8th.

Pretty much convinced me. Get another RB and unleash TAA in midfield. If Trent has cover behind him he can play with freedom and shred defences with his passing

If Leeds hadn’t scored I’m sure it would have been 0-3!

It seems we are back on track.
For me, from now on Trend should play in midfield. Today my MOTM by a countrymile.
Right back? I don’t know, perhaps Fabinho, He played this position at Monaco as far as I know.

I’d continue to play Trent wherever he is playing.

We should try doing that more often. Might help simmer down some of the transfer chat until at least the end of the season.

Now, can we put in decent back to back performances against bottom half teams? We’re not getting fourth but it’d be nice to end the season with some confidence to take into the next one.

Konate to patrol the RB position with a midfielder dropping into his role when he does. Once their wingers get clattered a couple of times by Konate, they won’t be too eager to keep attempting to come down our right side

Could work out as mad as some will find it.

It’s hard to see how he could do any worst than what he’s doing in the center of the pitch & I’d rather have players in the center who aren’t so slow & laboured.

Think Jürgen came there, sliding off his seat and all

We should start calling his position as it really is, a false RB (enough with the false 9)

I personally believe that we have predominantly played with 3 at the back, with Fabinho dropping in and us using Trent and Robbo further up the pitch. This is a different way of doing it, as Trent is used differently, with Hendo backing Salah up and making the over lapping run. It helps having a very mobile/athletic defender in Konate playing RCB.

I still believe that one of the reasons for our drop off this season, is that we lost crucial players up front, players educated in our press.
Mane left, Firmino/Jota/Diaz all got injured, leaving Salah (and probably the most ineffective of the 4) as the only forward fit. By improving this area, we are not as exposed.

I do agree that we need more mobility in our Midfield. What annoys me most is that when we click we are very very good, however, on the other hand we can look very abject.

I am definitely feeling positive though.
