I would guess at leadership at the back being the reason. We tend to not like playing inexperienced players next to each other, one reason why we played van Dijk and then Fabinho even in the League Cup.

Regardless of the officiating and how we played up to a point, the way we capitulated is an absolute disgrace.
We played okay up until then, but again the attack is so ponderous and slow. What has happened to heavy metal football? All se seem to do is hold up paly and wait for the opposition to set themselves up defensively.
JK seems to have a belief in the 4-3-3 that cannot be broken. Does he think that because it worked for so long it will continue to work regardless of how teams adapt to playing against us?
Something has to change and it’s up to him to work it out. This is absolute crap and it isn’t looking like changing anytime soon.
Fuck knows what’s wrong with the front 3. The interchange between them is piss poor and I often wonder if they know what colour shirts we are playing in.

That’s it. It seems to be this unwavering belief that we must play a 4-3-3 at all times and eventually we will come through the other side if we persist with it regardless of the results/performance, because it worked for us the last few seasons.
Surely there has to be a back-up plan or the option of tweaking the system within a match to offer something different. Teams have worked us out and we must respond with a reaction of our own to the tactics of our opposition.

If you watch the whole presser you can see he’s not sad or emotional, he just doesn’t understand why they ask that question when its clear we’re not fighting for the title.

i dont want to weigh in on the referee bias/tin foil hat debate too heavily.
i do see one point repeated alot and that is that the players heads go down when they get a decision wrongly overturned etc etc etc…
the only thing i can say to that is that, as they stand on the park, in the heat of the battle, they can have absolutely no idea whether VAR has fucked them over or not…Firmino doesnt know whether he has or hasnt actually played them onside, let alone the rest of the team.
they can see it in the post match review, but for them to let it affect them in the heat of the battle when they can have absolutely NO IDEA whether its a dodgy call or not, smacks of something we should be very concerned about. at its worst, it means its a culture at the club to assume everything that happens is a force against our momentum.
there are obvious exceptions to the rule here, like the GBH on VVD, but in the main, these overturned reviews, these last minute finds, in the heat of the battle, the players cant know whether they are just or not, so there should be no wearing down of their ingame mentality.
the players should be drilled that every decision is correct. regardless of the facts.

Hope so too. Worries me because their is a mole within Liverpool’s staff that seems to release everything. Jürgens mother was known about a month ago just before the United game. Team selections released hours before. Alissons injuries released a day early. Now this. Hopefully lies but the track record for Twitter this season is like Man City’s form at the minute
But they can go on previous experience. They all know the score and it’s clearly having a demoralising effect. Imagine being Mo or Sadio- you get nothing for being wrestled to the ground, whereas City and United get penalties for someone even looking in their direction.

The players know every VAR decision is likely to go against them, based on history. Hence those 50/50 calls deflate them because they KNOW they probably have been cheated.
Its hard enough being champions, best players injured, team in poor form then add that to it.
Winning the game today, only for the Leicester goal to be given.
That deflates people.
And I know Allison fucked up, but the game changed with the incorrect VAR decision.
