Post Match: Leicester v Liverpool (EPL 13/2/21 12.30pm)

I have a tough time swallowing that offside call. It’s very possible that Bobby’s foot plays him onside, but with big fucking green and blue Minecraft blocks covering the evidence, this still shot is pointless. Why the fuck do they use such thick lines for the public representation? If the point of VAR is transparency then they really aren’t selling it well with their graphic choices.

It’s never going to happen but being supplied with the actual fine VAR lines that VAR uses to decide upon would be handy. I wonder if that is something Klopp and the club can request?

Alli completely miskicks the ball!
Noway should your last cover be coming for that when there’s a defender on it. Ali should have got back in position for the 1 on 1 imo.

Because Kabak runs across him at the last second.

Some players are not stepping up to the plate. Sadly Thiago was not at the races today, poorly timed tackles, and did not achieve much. Kabak did not seem to get involved much and I have serious doubts about him but he is young and will get another chance. Bobby showed great skill to lay on Salah´s goal but frankly did little else. Ali went from the sublime to the ridiculous and I think Ox came on for 20 minutes but did he even get a touch of the ball?.
Thought Gini did o.k. and the rest actually played well and the rest actually played well. Sad to see Millie injured again.
It will be difficult to get heads up again after that but hopefully the CL will bring out the best in the whole team.

I agree that Phillps looks better than KABAK on what we have seen so far. I believe he has been added to the CL squad so hopefully will get to play on Tuesday and if we are really lucky it will be alongside Fabinho.

I thought Phillips would start yesterday…solid, dependable, listens to Hendo, alright not the fastest but does keep dangerous attackers quiet…but he didn’t!!!

He wasn’t any better than Williams at reading what’s happening. Your correct though if we had won his inabilities would be forgotten and we would have another GOAT on our hands, just like Thiago.

Alli blocks Kabak!

So written off already?

I’ve asked the same question twice now can we honestly say that Klopp is getting the best out of what he has to work with.

What?
I haven’t wriiten off Williams so why would I write off Kabak. It was too soon for Kabak and I said that a few times he needed at least another 3 or 4 traing sessions to be considered for a whole match.
Still I don’t understand it, Phillips is solid and I want to know what the coaching staff have against him and why a loanee gets the nod over him?

Last season Phillips was on loan in bundesliga 2 and struggled at least Kabak played in the top division

Theres a huge imbalance in the team. Its nothing more complicated than that. Every week a different side, particularly in defense and midfield takes the field. We look disjointed because we are.

So I take it you watched all those matches where Phillips for you struggled and Kabak was a complete monster in the Budesliga.
Btw I am not being unreasonable so please stop trying to make out I am. I asked questions and I got a response from our coaching staff which causes me to ask more questions.

… yet surely we could alleviate some of that by playing players that have trained with us for a while, no?

But your still playing players out of position. That’s leading to problems elsewhere.

Everyone is one tenderhooks now as well.

Our front line remains the same yet when they get the ball they can’t get a shot on target.

Because they aren’t getting the service from a disjointed midfield and 2 full backs that are again struggling because of the lack of continuity inside and behind.

Few things that stood out today to me. Our confidence is shot and our belief that we will score and win is damaged. Apart from the goal Bobby was very poor.
Don’t think Kabak did much wrong all match but his attempt to close down their player was worrying, I’m hoping he’s faster than that!
But yesterday’s capitulation is the best example of us missing an experienced cb. We are losing our heads collectively when we concede and we have nobody back there to just calm things down and get everyone focused. Those 3 goals were down to individual errors again.
Oh and someone needs to teach Thiago to tackle or to just back off and hold the player up.
No real issue with the first goal. Personally I feel if it’s that tight it should stand.

I don’t buy that, Mané had the ball often in the 1st half in really good positions and space yet we end up with nothing for it.
