Post Match: Leicester v Liverpool (EPL 13/2/21 12.30pm)

Yes I have.

Well I’m not a little girlie with a new tea set.

I was just indicating why Mané might be getting an easier rid, as you did ask. I suppose that just flew over your head and so no I can not develop further. :upside_down_face:

Klopp doesn’t seem to be seeing much at the moment so I’m going with you having the same eye disfunction.

The collision between Alisson and Kabak is on Alisson, to my mind. He is the goalkeeper, looking at the play in front of him. If he is going to come so far out of his area, he simply HAS to shout so loud that Kabak gets out of the way. No fans in stadium. No noise to speak of. Alisson needs to make himself heard.

Now, had he played numerous games with Kabak, there may be a sense in which they know what each other is going to do, so I accept simple lack of familiarity is also part of it.

Had Alisson stayed back, Kabak gets enough of a touch on it to clear the danger, most likely. But if the goalie is going to go walkabout - and Alisson does, to good effect usually, in playing the sweeper keeper role - but if any confusion, like the collision situation, he has to shout so loudly as to remove the confusion.

That didn’t happen. Alisson mistake for me, and a small part of it lack of familiarity and playing time, and I suppose rotten luck too, as it’s the way our season is going.

Then do you think our games have been refereed fairly this season? Do you think the rules have been applied consistently for our players and the opposition players? Do you think all other clubs are refereed to the same standards as we are?

The alleged fight between Robbo and Alisson?

Main thing is I don’t like that it has been leaked. Needs to be an internal review, as info is getting out that should be private, with the team routinely leaked early and now this sort of dirty laundry being aired in public.

If there was indeed a fight, I’m not ready to say it’s a good thing. It might be, or it might not be. Why were they fighting? If it was frustration at our performance and slump, and it all got a bit heated, then OK, that happens, so I’m not too bothered. But if they were fighting because of some other issue, perhaps even an ongoing issue, that’s not good. At all.

How bad was the fight? Handbags, or some real ABH? Squared up to each other, not backing down, a little shove here and there? Or punches thrown in anger? Robbo is a tough cookie. Alisson is a good couple stone or more heavier, and much the bigger man. He could really hurt his teammate if he punched him with the power he has. Anyway, if handbags, no big deal.

How quickly did they make up? This is crucial. If it is still simmering and there’s animosity there, that’s not good. At all. If it blew up quickly and they made up quickly, even a little embarrassed and sheepishly, but they come out respecting one another, then yes, the air has been cleared and we move on.

So if there has been a fight, there are too many unknowns for me to be able to say too quickly that it’s not such a bad thing. Hopefully that’s the case.

But the leak stuff is not good and needs to be rooted out.

I could well imagine that it was a communication mix up. Like Hendo shouting out encouragment to Kabak to get the ball and Allison saying leave it to me. In such a scenario I would expect a new young player to follow the captains orders plus youthful enthusiasm.
I wonder what would have happened if Fabinho had been playing, The thing is it’s the defenders ball all the way so it’s hard to imagine him doing anything different however there is a slight possibility he decides his best option is to go to the goal line (though that would be strange as he would clearly beat anyone to the ball except Allison.

Finally, Klopp taking a break?

Ideally he stays with the group, and they find a way to dig deep, come together, and overcome the adversity enough to finish top four, and maybe even have a tilt at the CL.

Then hopefully something, somewhere, is open in summer and Klopp can get some sunshine, drink a few beers, get away from it all and recharge. It’s not too far off.

However, the well-being of the man is most important thing, so if he has hit something of a wall - mum, covid, and a tough tough season - then get him out of the firing line to refresh and then go again.

The other aspect, the possibility of some sort of break between owners and manager? Well, that would be disastrous, as our strength, as a non sugar daddy club, is everyone working together. When that works as it should, it gives us a chance against richer clubs. Lose that, and we will slip back, relatively speaking, to a top four outfit, and not a title winning one.

There has been some shit officiating this season across the board, just saw a couple again today in the Southampton game that screams of a lack of consistency.

The officiating isnt up to standard in this league in general, too many incompetent decisions being made with zero accountability especially on VAR.

I do agree we have had some shit decisions go against us, however, on the flip side, opposition fans coined the phrase LiVARpool because they saw bias working against them; so who is right then?

Focusing on the ref after yesterday’s performance when we leaked 3 goals in 7 odd minutes is focusing on the wrong thing personally, but that’s my opinion.

Injuries haven’t helped but the unity and mentality of this group is stronger than this, they have demonstrated this for the last 3 seasons; we need to get that fire back in our bellies, sort that out we would worry less on what the refs do.

No problem with swapping shirts with a Leicester player after a loss. But why pose for a photo?

Why not lad just made his debut.

Well he doesn’t look happy…I’d rather criticise our players based on their performances.

When one player “has been with us all fucking season” and they choose to play the one that “has had maybe up to 3 full training sessions”, the obvious conclusion is they don’t think Player 1 is good enough.

Or they’re blind and dumb.

Agreeing to loan him to Swansea suggests Klopp believes he isn’t good enough. He’s only still here because it collapsed not that we wanted to keep him.

They’ve been consistent in our games. Consistently fucking us over with no balance whatsoever. I wouldn’t mind if it “evened itself out” but it’s not even close. Genuine question, when was the last time you saw a decision go our way and think “fucking hell, I’d be furious if that was given against us”? I genuinely don’t remember one.

Oh did they now? Based on what exactly? I defy anybody to give one fucking example of an incident where we’ve benefitted from VAR and shouldn’t have. This season or last. Can you think of one? Nah, me neither.

I guarantee plenty of opposition fans would point to numerous occasions, but each to their own I guess.

Can we honestly say that what Klopp is working with is putting in its best?
