Post Match: Liverpool Man City (EPL 6/2/21 4.30pm)

Errr! the situation wasn’t the same, was it?

At least show some balls!

Anyone throwing Alisson under the bus can fuck right off. He’s been consistently brilliant for 2 years. Maybe still ill, or just a bad day at the office. Either way we draw a line under it. Our problems run deeper

All he lacks is reading of the game, that would come with playing him. At least we would be progressing someone/thing and showing some balls.

Seriously the wheels have fallen off. Dust ourselves off and get back on the horse.

Trents free kicks haven’t been ideal either lately. I was happy enough to see Thiago take it off him tbh. Yeah he attacked decently. Put more importantly he got rinsed (is that how you spell it?) multiple times and watched city’s first go in as Sterling waltzed by.

Trent was on form going forward today, noway should that be ignored!

I think the word is skinned. Yes Sterling had the better of Trent which demands why wasn’t more cover given that side to help him out? (don’t bother noone else has as it’s the second time I’ve asked that. Tactical geniuses my …

The Boss said finishing Top 4 is now the main goal. But I ask this, if there isn’t going to be transfer money available this summer to strengthen the squad, as has been widely reported, then does it really make much difference? And I’m asking genuinely.

We make CL football for next season but go with the exact same side? We get Virgil back, Curtis is a nailed on starter and (hopefully) Naby. Those are massive boosts for us. But we are relying again the same front 3 + Jota. Maybe young Harvey will be ready to make the jump.

Mainly I reckon cause the lads to his left are both midfielders playing centre half. And the fact he had either Curtis or Thiago infront of him which let’s face it aren’t no NGolo Kantes themselves. Still think he wasn’t great, no one was bar maybe Curtis. I would watch the highlights again to be proven wrong on his attacking output but I’d rather not with that result lol.

I’ll give you the benefit though, he was good at attacking but really should still work on his 1v1 defending skills

Still feel shit at the thought of losing to the cheaters…something is wrong, but what we’ll probably never know what. Since this 6/7 year old walked into the Paddock till this 61 year old sat and watched today’s game, I have always loved LFC who may I say are the best team this country has ever produced and always will. I have watched and loved thru’ thick and thin and always will, but we need to get back to some kind of winning ways, just for a boost and top 4. Yes I do feel sick and it hurts to be beat. A good nights sleep might help but it had to be the slimy shitty…C’mon boys do it for the fans worldwide…YNWA.

Curtis was head and shoulders above the rest of our lads.
For mr Trent is still a young player so I defend him a lot. Everyone knows defending isn’t his strong point which is why one has to question the coaching staff that allow him to be left so exposed. Let’s face it he got left to guard against 2 players one of them Sterling in his back. Sure he’s going to get beaten but then so does Fabinho so to then pick on Trent and not say a word about Fabinho (who is the CB) just seems fickle.

If that’s true that’s criminel. Now I understand why he made such a fool of himself, it was either that or letting one loose infront of the cameras.
Adrian must be really fucking shit even in training.

I am happy with his performances if we were in our attacking pomp of a year ago he would be flying. He picks the right pass most times the odd one does get cut out, which always happens but there is no way he slows us down. Yep he always seems to get booked but it would be interesting to see how many times he does get a foot in and wins the ball back.

For me, we need more energy and ball players in and around him, aka Hendo.

A Friend said to me a while after the CL win would I ever turn on Klopp, I said no and that remains however all I can think when i watch that is they are mentally shattered.

I have no other opinion on what the issue could be. Under other shit runs in the past it’s been obvious and missing 8 against Brighton kind of gives a reason, but today it’s individual errors from all over the pitch.

The team has created the total sum of nothing bar against Spurs & West Ham.

It’s like watching the same game and it’s become depressing to watch, I might not bother next weekend and catch up on the result at a later time.

I gave up on this season after the Southampton game. Since then I’ve watched us against Burnley and 1st half v Brighton. Not another minute, including today.
At the risk of sounding like a stuck record, we’ve had a number done on us all season. They’ve broken us. We did brilliantly to rise above the adversity in the first half of the season but it’s caught up with us and we have nothing left. It’s not surprising really, you can only last so long with one arm tied behind your back.
I went for a long walk today, kept up to date on my phone. Saw the half-time score and couldn’t help noticing Manchester City FC had been awarded a penalty and Tiago had been booked after 3 minutes. Now as I said, I hadn’t watched the game and those 2 decisions might have been absolutely correct, but it just seemed in keeping with everything that had gone on previously, the fact we concede more penalties than we get despite the fact we spend about 75% of each game attacking, and our players get booked earlier and for less when the likes of Mo, Mane etc are being assaulted with impunity all over the pitch.
Tiago’s booking today was the 4th time this season one of our lads has been booked in the first 3 minutes. Compare that to twats like Pogba and Fernandes who commit 3 or 4 yellow card offences every game before the ref even considers booking them. Quite simply our games have been officiated to a different standard than everyone else’s all season, simple as that.
I see various players are being dug out on here and on other forums. Trent, Bobby, Alisson, Gini, even Tiago…in fact just about everyone bar Mo and Hendo. Fucking disgraceful. These lads look shell-shocked and who can blame them. If you went into work every day knowing you were going to be shafted individually and collectively then you’d probably end up looking the same.
All I hope for now is somehow we finish top 4 and JK sends the lads away in the summer with a fucking burning sense of injustice and a desire to come back stronger than ever next season. Get rid of the deadwood/sicknotes, hope big Virgil and Joe come back as they were pre-injury and wipe the fucking floor with every cunt we meet. Because that’s what I’d be doing if I was Klopp, he knows what’s gone on this season and he needs to use it to create the siege mentality that’s needed.
Short term we need to get the new lads in at CB and Fab/ Hendo in centre-mid. Today was too soon and I have no problem with that. Think Fab is suspended for Leicester but should be back for when we play those fucking bitter cunts in 2 weeks time. If ever there was a match I want to see us win that’s it.
Up the fucking mighty Reds!!!

Come on lads and ladesses,

We have been through worse. We only have 3 years and abit left of our time under Kloppo. We will miss when he is gone.
We have to be patient and just weather through this storm. Man City are not invincible. They have had less injuries than our team. We were 18 points clear of them last year. This year is just a weird and tragic year with Covid and all.

Chin up, have a couple of gins, whiskeys or whatever you fancy. As Captain Tom said “Tomorrow is a good day”

Every player can have a bad game make mistakes & give the ball away, I have played a lot of Footy in my life and somedays the touch/passing isn’t there but one thing always is and that is effort. I mess up I try and redeem it by winning the ball back it’s how they recover from f*#k ups that matters.

We just need to get back to the energy, work rate and fighting for each other that we have over the last 2 & half seasons.

YNWA Come on fellas make us proud again, don’t care if we win nothing just wear the shirt with pride and give your all, if you are knackered pass it on to the next one for a game or so. Fight for the right to play!!!

I’d take us missing 20 chances a game, the season in which we hit the bars and posts on a regular occasion was baffling but I knew it was there.

I’ve waited for a reaction now in almost a month. We will come through it and I’m already looking forward to next season.

Dunno bar the CL I can watch much more of this, this season, find it a depressing season anyhow and this has just added to it.

Hopefully we can work on something new this week and get at least one of the new guys bedded in.
