Can’t argue with him really.

Don’t forget Naby

What ever way you want to dismiss it he was an option. He is a natural centre back.

Game was surprisingly even until the subs tbh. Could have gone either way. Jones and Thiago did a good job of not letting them completely control the midfield. They had the clearer chances but we had created more. Then the subs came. Then they camped in our half. We crumbled. Ali had a mare. Embarrassing end to what was a good first 60 mins. Scoreline is about what I expected before the game. The manner of it was not what I expected.

My main take away for this game is going to be just how good Jones is. Our best player and only Foden/Gundogan had a better game or them.

Not surprised, but definately disappointed to see some peolpe arguing for playing Kabak or Davies in this game. Would have been lambs to the slaughter. The social media reaction would have been horrific and thier careers here would have been over before they began. Take the time. Bed them in slowly. Get them ready for the CL

I don’t agree. We had got back to level but they looked the more composed and dangerous side throughout the game. Obviously Alisson shits the bed twice (and maybe could do better with the 3rd) and it gifts them the result but I think they very likely would have scored again anyway.
Our form is in the shits, has been for ages, I posted the results since football resumed and guess what the are already 2 losses worse since then.
I think blaming the result on “Ali and trying to move” on ignores the bigger picture. This team and Manager have given us joy beyond what any of us could have wished to experience but the wheels have well and truly come off.
Lack of fans, tiredness, injuries, loss of form, maybe the summer window…all play a part. Whatever the reasons the sparkle has gone from the side and from the Manager. What has shocked me most about this slide is he seems unable to arrest it. He looks drained, physically and mentally.

Sorry makes it a tad better.

Yes we need to get Fabinho and Henderson back available in midfield because Wijnaldum is in need for a rest.

watching the game, i thought to myself they are playing a lot slower than in previous seasons and then they all of a sudden speed it up again in the final third. Pep jus confirmed as much during his interview… they are jus more controlled in all phases of the game. less counter attacks against them

His partner must be a brilliant hairdresser :face_with_monocle:

I agree Kabak did not play in the Dutch second division, no he comes from the Bundesliga where he was a stammspieler for three years. Yes, he is only 20 but it is a move Johan Cruijff would make, chatting up the player, making him important, giving him a lot of confidence and play him and see what happens. Most of his moves turned out fine.

Its a bowl!!!

One that the youngsters love. Then again I call him young and he’s a child and I don’t lol

Everything went against us this season. Even international break looks far away.

Time to play two proper centre backs now (Kabak and Davies), move Fab and Hendon into midfield with Gini. Thiago is a great passer but we need to go back to basics for the rest of the season. Use Thiago sparingly (mainly in Europe)until he gets used to our system/methods and he’ll be great for next season. Its just not working atm. The whole team looks slow and ponderous.

3 consecutive league games lost at Anfield for the first time since 1963.

Leicester away next and then Everton at home.

Remember when we used to be mentality monsters. Fun times they were.

Let’s hope we make the top 4 and hope that we don’t come up against a Bayern / Juventus in the Champions League coz the way these lot formally known as a team are playing lately it will be embarressing.

Well that was shite. And Becker was utter, utter shite.

Gift them a couple of goals, why don’t you.

And perhaps it’s time to retire all that banana skin malarkey. It’s evidently not helping

Nothing is, sadly. I just wonder if there is a reset coming similar to when we got drubbed at Wembley against Spurs in 17/18.

No, of course not. If you want to throw blame around, then he get his share.

But maybe we need to stop, have a breath and just take stock for a bit.
