I think the difference is technique rather than just confidence. Not the first time Nunez did it.

I think Nunez’s game has two big technique issues:

  1. He doesn’t control the ball clearly, taking time for his touch, that makes him look rusty all the time.
  2. He doesn’t attack the box often. Yes, his workrate is amazing, but that’s useless in situations where we need a striker to be calm and patient in the box.

I think Nunez is doing about everything I think as an individual player should do, especially as part of LFC. While the scoring part remains an issue, but his willingness to run, to work are important attributes that some players do not subscribe to.

I think the biggest problem I see in him in the last 2 seasons are not the individual player problem, it’s a problem where he doesn’t seem to sync with the rest of the team. He does all the things required as a player but he doesn’t seem to get into the groove and become part of the machine. Right now, he seems to be working hard as another machine running parallel to the bigger machine.

Love the guy’s commitment and work rate, but he appears to be as thick as two short planks.

Was he as bad as he looked from the highlights?

No. But he wasn’t spectacular either.

He just did his usual (not the recent form though, more like earlier in the season) thing, against inferior opposition.

I feel like if anyone could do with a big hug and an arm around the shoulder from JĂŒrgen Klopp to get his confidence back, it would be Darwin.

Still nowhere near what he should have had.

It was working really well at the start of the season but sadly he went through a really barren patch just when we could have used goals from him the most. A lot of presentable chances fell to him and were missed and those had a material impact in us losing our way in the league.

Did Chiesa’s goal remind anyone else of Ơmicer’s in Istanbul?

Which is the worst enemy you have. Most important muscle in the body is the 4” between the ears.

Something about a broken clock being right twice a day?

Same angle, very similar.

So he’s been upgraded to Smicer from Artur.

Evidently he looked lively yesterday and has done in his cameos. The quality is there it’s the rest of it that is a worry.
