Post Match: Liverpool v Arsenal (EPL 28/9/20 8pm)

Fuck that; I want those three and the Carabao Cup, too. People may knock it, but no team has ever won all four trophies in the same season.

This team is so good it deserves to make history.

What a start to the season…

First game, a win against Leeds of which we knew that they’d be a tough nut to crack, and go on to win a difficult match. Since then Leeds have won their games and are on six points now, winning against Fulham and at Sheffield.

Second game away at Stamford Bridge, against a club pumped up with new quality players, right, left and center, full of confidence after a win at Brighton. Our lads deal with them in a cool, composed way and let them no chance, especially after Kristensen gets sent off.

Then we face a good Arsenal side who had beaten Fulham at their ground on the opening day, and then West Ham. Our lads make them look like a sunday league team for the biggest parts of the game. The 3-1 scoreline flatters them utterly.

Add in the 7-2 win at Lincoln in midweek with our youngsters and squaddies showing their quality…

We are frightening our opponents to death right now, long might it continue that way!

Fantastic performance. We are on a different level to every other team in the league.

What did I miss?

Pleasantly surprised at how dominant that performance was last night. I was honestly expecting a more awkward game last night. The lads basically swatted Arsenal to one side like an annoying fly. Bodes well for the rest of the season.

Damn it feels good to be The Champions.

Last 2 season starts I have had that tiny niggly doubt at the back of my mind “What if we can’t keep it up? What if performance levels drop?”.

Love it when this team blows those summer cobwebs away with a performance that reminds us that we are the best and that we are not going anywhere.

Klopp hearing the end of Keane talking about us and not getting the full context or what he was saying.

It’ll be all over the media today - Klopp and Keane clash, Klopp kicks off, klopp in heated debate.

He clarified in post match presser. Boring really but hey something to detract from the fact we left Arsenal with a bloodied nose and arsehole.

True to form.

You need to buy a lottery ticket with predictions like that

Mane could have got a red card.
Luiz should have got yellow, possibly red for neck high pull on Keita. Overlooked because advantage played and we scored.
Jota could have had goal disallowed for handball

But…
Liverpool dominated in every department. The master tactician Arteta reverted to Sideshow Bob hammering balls over the top instead of playing football. In truth it could have been four or five even with Jotas being questioned.
Our defending was muck for their goal, pure comedy material. Allison then saved us with the Lacazette save…but it was still never in doubt. On a day when the shooting boots are honed that was five or six goals.

Arsenal are whining about Fabinho bullying Aubameyang off the ball and the switch in play where Bellerin was carded for downing Mane. Bit of news guys. Fabinho jockeyed the highest paid player in the PL off the ball like a schoolboy and Bellerin fouled Mane.

On Aubameyang, great when scoring not so great when not. You can see why Klopp didnt sign him for Liverpool. He loses interest and hides.

Also…I played football at a really low park level for years. Foul throws were yelled at, abuse for anyone who dared!! Arsenal had two last night.

What Luis did should be yellow it’s what the other Arsehole did that deserved a red, Xhaka I think. He pulled Keita back extremely violently in am atempt to injure him imo. Btw I believe if the ref sees it he can wave play on and come back to it and give cards at the next oportunity. I just can not understand why he didn’t.

I certainly can see why Klopp was happy. That was a pretty convincing win against a pretty decent Arsenal. They’ll be up there as will Chelsea. So two big games to win. Our possession in the first half was amazing. Something like 70+%. Great football.

A glowing appraisal from McNulty. Even so early in the season he sees no one to stop us.
