Post Match: Liverpool v Arsenal (EPL 28/9/20 8pm)

:grinning:
Made up for Jota. Looked like nervous school when first on. Could just see the relief & delight when he scored.

Wow. That would be hot for anyone. Atleast add some spice to balance the heat mate

Great dominant performance by the lads. Gave them a goal start and still thrashed the arse off them. Two great blocks by Allison second half to prove that the big man is back on form. Diogo could have had a debut hat trick but was nice to see the new lad wrap it up with a well taken goal. Could have given most of them MOM but decided on Sadio, the man is a monster. Well done boys.

Well, as someone already mentioned in this thread, the result was never in doubt. Well I guess it was, for something like 2 and a half minutes.

If ever you could trash another team 3-1 I think we did that today. Mane and Salah ran circles around their fullbacks and they looked out of breath before halftime. Our midfield and defenders were playing keep-ball with their team and we always looked like we weren’t having to try very hard at all.

Having said all that, we didn’t get the goal to put the game away until Diogo did near the end. With the ever-slightly-increasing individual errors we seem to be making recently it was always a relief for us to get that clinching goal.

Mane probably my MOM for this game, Robertson a close second despite the ghastly error. Another sign of our team’s confidence - Robbo came back ever the stronger after his mistake and atoned for it with the winner.

All said, a satisfying and reassuring, comfortable win, also showing that we probably have another couple of gears to go before we reach our peak form. Another 35 more games to win this season, YNWA!

This was a full team performance. The Arse were lucky to stay in it for so long. The press by the front and midfield was immense, and the defence contributed by pushing up and taking risks.

Many of Arse’s threat were from offside positions. When they did break the offside, Alison took off his smoking jacket and came alive.

MO play well in first half, and then was over exuberant in the Jota mix up. What I like is that the team rallied around, told them all to get on with it, and we ended up with the deserve third.

The Jota signing means we can now have the luxury of making a sub of our wide forwards if needed. Still needs time to bed in, but this goal will help kick start from the get go that he belongs and not get overawed.

What a bench, Jota looks the part… Amazing squad depth.

Trent getting into his groove, Gomez has had his engine upgraded by to Rolls Royce.

Utterly dominant… Press was on point… We are a red machine.

More to the point why?

In many ways that was our most comfortable result so far, but this is definitely a much improved Arsenal side. They have every chance of competing with Chelsea, Utd and Leicester for the last 2 CL spots this season. So, Leeds, Chelsea and Arsenal is a nasty start, but 9 from 9 anyway and other than Leeds not really too many problems.

Super performance from the lads, with two very different halves. In the first, it was us attacking them, taking the ball away from them, attacking them again. Should have been 2 nil at the very least if not for that blip from Robbo. Then a tense second half against a better organised Arsenal side which managed to stay tight and could have equalised through Lacazette (one on one against Allisson).

Luckily, the frenchman scuffed his shot, and after that, our lads turned the screw and were all over them until the end. Brilliant!

(lovely little goal from Jota btw, what a start for the lad!)

One of the other great sights was our strength in depth, 3 first choice midfielders out and yet can still have 3 on the pitch and two on the bench, and Grujic and Shaqiri not even making the squad

Great performance largely.

Unlike both Virgil, and then Robbo consecutively to missnkick to concede the goal.

Robbo excellent, as were the midfield three. Alisson proving once again how great he is.

Thought Trent had an average game in terms of his short passing, quite a few misplaced. But deliveries lethal as always.

Lovely to see Jota score on debut, especially after Salah got in his way with the earlier chance. He looked lively and confident.

All in all its what we wanted, and considering its only the 3rd game of the season, we looked like we are getting through the gears. Three tough PL fixtures out of the way, 9 points. Cant want much more.

Shout out to Arteta and the solid work he is doing with Arsenal. They will only get better, still a long way off, but what an improvement. With bombscare Luiz they won’t get too far.
